Hello!

We’re Brigid and Josh, a British couple from Yorkshire aged 30 and 31.
Since arriving in June 2023 we have travelled this beautiful country, completing many wonderful house sits along the way. It’s a a super fulfilling way to explore and get to know real kiwi life. During this time we have sat for over 10 households (via multiple platforms such as pawshake, NZ house sitters and Facebook). We have experience looking after a wide range of dog breeds ranging from staffy, GSP, retriever, jack Russel and many more in between. We have owned and cared for rescues too. As well as dogs we have had the joy of looking after multiple cats, both indoor and outdoor. We also have tons of experience looking after chickens (our own and other peoples) and large lifestyle blocks.
Garden and house plant care is also something we both enjoy - I like to call Josh the groundskeeper of the household, since he is meticulous in his work with gardens and veggie patches etc. Communication is very important during pet sits, so we always send regular updates and photos!

Growing up with animals ourselves, we are fully aware of the responsibility (and joy!) that comes with looking after pets. They will be loved as if they are our own!

In our spare time we both love to hike and be active, cook/eat tasty food, make new friends and generally enjoy life. And meet lots of wonderful animals! We are very clean and tidy, so will always treat other people's homes the same as our own and leave your place sparkling!

We both work as software developers at home but wanted a break from the 9-5 grind, so now work on and off remotely on our own projects. We have our own van, but love to have a base for a while so we can get to know different parts of the country even better.

We had never used a house sitting website prior to this so we were slightly nervous about our first booking, but we knew as soon as we met Brigid and Joshua that they were the right couple for us. They were genuine and friendly and were great at communicating. As each photo they sent us came through I could see them falling in love with our beautiful Hippo and it was a huge relief to see how much they cared about him. This was our second sit with Brigid and Josh and it won’t be the last. They are just super fantastic with our doggie. She was so well looked after, well fed, well medicated and well entertained. Our house was also well cared for and returned in spotless condition. We are so grateful to Brigid and Josh for their wonderful job of looking after our girl and our home. Could not recommend them more highly.

Brigid and Josh are superb house sitters we really can’t recommend them highly enough! We were confident leaving them in charge of the household as soon as we met them as due to their friendly and professional demeanor also their kindness towards Evie (our dog who was away for this sit.). Brigid and Josh were simply fantastic. The care they took our our little dog and our house was just brilliant. My dog just loved them and the care and interactions they had with her made my heart sing. They were so good in keeping up contact, giving us regular reports and even little videos. We were completely at ease during our time away. Would absolutely have them back again and again.

We were delighted to have Brigid and Josh caring for our property and two Jack Russell dogs. They quickly bonded with our dogs, walking them daily and giving them lots of cuddles in our absence. They took good care of our place and our Airbnb Brigid and Josh come highly recommended by us.

Brig & Josh were such a lucky find for us. What a lovely couple & they took such good care of our dogs and the house. Totally above & beyond our expectations for house and dog sitters! I'd invite them back in a heartbeat. We had daily pupdates and never once worried about anything when we were on holiday.
