Dog and cat lover in Auckland

33, Office manager

--Availability πŸ—“οΈ: In 2025 I'm available 22nd-24th Jan, 4th-5th February and 9th-13th February for short sits only. After this I'll be travelling NZ/overseas and available intermittently.-- ✈️

Hi! πŸ‘‹πŸ» I'm Viivi, and I moved from London to New Zealand over 2 years ago. Since then I've petsat for dogs, cats, chickens, a herd of cattle and horses as well as a miniature pony, sheep and an aquarium full of fish! 🐠 I enjoy exploring various neighbourhoods and hiking trails with my new furry companions, and chilling out on the sofa/in the garden with them πŸ₯Ύ

πŸ• In the 3+ years I've been petsitting, I've never cancelled a sit; I only apply for sits that look like they might suit my schedule and block out the dates in my diary once agreed. Even with sits booked 6+ months in advance, you can count on me to be there and look after your pets! 🐾

Why do I petsit? While my frequent travels have meant I can't currently commit to having pets of my own, I love looking after other people's family members and meeting new people while doing so 🐱 I'm clean, responsible and very considerate of both your space and your animals' (if they're a cuddler, great but also happy to leave them alone for the most part if they're not big on strange humans and just need feeding/a bit of company from a distance!) πŸ›‹οΈ I grew up with dogs at home (German Shepherds and Dobermans) at and cats, as well as an assortment of other creatures like fish, budgies and terrapin turtles so have experience with lots of different animals 🐒 I'm also currently still working out where in Auckland I'd like to base myself long term, so petsitting is a great way of testing out different neighbourhoods and exploring the city πŸ™οΈ

πŸˆβ€β¬› Petsitting experience: Lots! I started petsitting back in 2017, but only really started doing it more often in 2021 during COVID. As well as NZ, I have experience of petsitting from London and Cyprus 🌍 The oldest cats I've sat for so far were 19, and the youngest a kitten under the age of one, while the youngest dog I've looked after has been 4 months old and the oldest 12 years old 🐈 I can give medications/tablets/ear and eye drops as needed and have had to treat fleas on a few occasions as well as take one or two pets to the vet...so am confident in dealing with most situations that might arise while you're away πŸ’‰

πŸ–₯️ Work pattern: I work as an office manager by Akoranga on the North Shore. With dogsits where they can be left at home during the day, I make sure to walk then in the morning and evening. Otherwise if you have existing daycare arrangements that would suit this work pattern, I can drop them off on pre-agreed days. I can work a day from home a week (usually a Monday) as needed. On weekends I'm happy to take pets out with me where possible to socialise them and if they like longer walks, on hikes in areas where dogs are allowed (like dog parks, beaches or tramping tracks near Auckland) 🌳

Interests: I enjoy hiking, cycling, kayaking and a low key bar or comedy night with friends. I'm not into clubbing/partying, and wake up pretty early to walk the dogs or play with cats before any work/take the bins out πŸ—‘οΈ I have my own car, so just need a packing spot for it (on street is fine) πŸš—

We feel very privileged to have had Viivi looking after our cat. Viivi is very experienced, professional, confident with animals and a great communicator. She was very patient and intuitive with our cat, who can be shy with strangers, winning her over and sending us lots of photo updates along the way. A seamless experience. Thanks so much Viivi!

TREVE (Auckland Central North Island, Oct 2024 - 6 nights)
Viivi was an amazing cat/ housesitter. We went away for 2 weeks over the Christmas period. Viivi looked after our cat Angus who isn't keen on strangers. The first day she sent a photo of him being brushed looking very content. I loved the daily photos seeing how happy he was. We returned to a very clean house with a happy cat. I would highly recommend Viivi for any future house / animal sitting

JULIE (Poike North Island, Dec 2024 - 2 weeks)

JACKIE (Warkworth North Island, Jun 2024 - 2 nights)
Vivii is a fantastic house sitter, who sent great updates while she was looking after our pets. One of our cats caused a bit of havoc on her arrival and she handled it extremely well. It is very reassuring knowing you have someone very capable looking after your home and pets while you’re away. We highly recommend Vivii as your next house sitter.

MICHAEL AND PHOEBE (Wesley North Island, May 2024 - 1 week)
Vivi was amazing. Cannot recommend enough. She looked after our pup, walked him, took him many places and kept in touch with us the entire time we were away. He had a slight issue with his ear and Vivi was straight on to it for us. Highly recommend, kept the place clean and tidy, was lovely to come to. Would definitely use Vivi to anyone.

PENNY (Remuera North Island, Apr 2024 - 3 weeks)

JESSICA (Toi Toi South Island, Dec 2023 - 6 nights)
Thank you Viivi for taking such great care of my home and 2 cats and 2 dogs. They were all pampered and received so much love and attention while I was away (and she even won over my very shy cat!). Communication was great and I received updates for how things were going and what the animals had been up to. Was so nice to get away for a few days and not have to worry about the fur babies so I seriously cannot thank you enough! Would not hesitate to recommend Viivi to anyone looking for an ... MORE

KATHRYN (Bishopdale South Island, Dec 2023 - 4 nights)
Viivi was a wonderful communicator right from the get go. Very attentive to our two dogs sharing updates and details with us which was much appreciated. She left the house clean and tidy and was really respectful. Also really accommodating for some last minute changes to our travel plans due to my husband having to go into hospital. We would welcome Viivi back again. Thanks Viivi
