Kia Ora! We are Ashley and Nick, a married couple in our early/mid 30s who have permanently relocated to the beautiful Whakatipu Basin.

***Right now, we are currently pausing house sits as we welcome a new (human) addition to our family. We have every intention of resuming house sits in the future at family friendly homes! Stay tuned. :) ***

Before that, we've been exploring this beautiful world together since Jan 2016 (officially our World Exploration Date) and have visited over 40+ countries (and counting) across 6 continents before settling in NZ.

We are lucky enough to be able to work from anywhere with a decent internet connection which enables our lifestyle of slow yet consistent traveling. Our work has given us the flexibility to work when and wherever we are currently exploring. Since we have such flexibility in our life, we've had the privilege of making ourselves available to care for sweet and well-loved pets around the world!

While we are new to Kiwi House Sitters, we've been active on TrustedHouseSitters for about 6+ years now, so we are not new to animal and house sitting. Our first sit (and the initiator of this fabulously furry life) began in New Zealand (circa 2016 via a Facebook post)! So it's all come full circle.

House sitting has allowed us to experience local cultures with the comfort of a home base all while combining our love of animals (and the great company they offer) with exploration and the outdoors. If there is a trail nearby, you'll find us on it, either running, hiking, or limping (usually Ashley after a long run) and often with a pup in tow!

Due to our frequent travels, we are unable to have our own pets, so we supplement this with loving and caring for your pets! We enjoy home cooking, podcasts, running, and relaxing with our new pet friends.

We completely understand the importance of maintaining a normal schedule for your fur babies and keeping them comfortable at home (and well-loved) while you are away. We always want the best for your animals and to make your trip as worry-free as possible for you!

We are very diligent about sending daily updates, pictures, and videos to owners (to the point of annoyance - although we've been told there is no such this as "too many pictures") :)

Our Experience:

We absolutely love being able to provide pets with a calm, loving environment while their owners are away. We've looked after homes and cared for a variety of pets around the world from rabbits in Japan to parakeets in Boston -and every cat, dog, and chicken (and guinea pig!) in between.

We have experience sitting pets with a variety of breeds, a variety of ages and a variety of medical conditions. We've done eye drops in Pugs, cared for cats in various stages of kidney failure, led around dogs with minimal eyesight, changed doggy diapers for elderly dogs, given ear drops, applied skin creams, and more. We're always happy to do what we can, when we can so your pets are happy and well-cared for.

We also love ALL types of pets and breed types. We've sat a wide variety of dog breeds including pitties, golden retrievers, labs, GSPs, Catahoula, mastiffs, bulldogs, chihuahuas, Carolina dogs, Pomeranians, Australian shepherds, Frenchies, schnauzers, terriers, lurchers, greyhounds, wolfhounds, border collies, weenies, Yorkies, pugs, doodles, corgies, vizslas, and several different varieties of cats including Bengals!
