We are a loving, professional couple.
We are healthy, fit and quiet.

We are originally from Canada, but have been living in New Zealand since 1986. Louis was asked to come here to open an office for a multinational consulting firm.

We lived in Christchurch for the first 12 years and then moved to Auckland in 1998 (we lived in and have been here ever since).

Our two sons were born in Christchurch and have both finished university in Auckland. The oldest is now working in the USA and the youngest has moved out as well, so we are now on our own.

We built and owned a beautiful architecturally designed home in St Heliers (featured in Urbis Magazine 2005).

We always owned a dog.
Our last family pet was, Magnum, a Bernese Mountain dog.
We like cats and farm animals too. We enjoy gardening.

We decided to start house sitting 9 years ago to experience living in different parts of New Zealand, before deciding where to finally settle down again.

We are both home during the day. Louis has his own business and works from home.

We have been house sitting for more than 9 years in different suburbs of Auckland mainly and, on small farms. Consequently, we have expanded our expertise and love for a wider range of animals and lifestyles.

We have a deep respect for the trust that homeowners have in us and the unconditional love that their animals display toward us.

Louise and Louis were wonderful house sitters. We have a large lifestyle property, and probably the largest they have had to care for, with cows, sheep, alpacas and horses as well as dogs and cats and assorted poultry. Additionally we have large mature gardens. All were looked after perfectly (including rounding up a stray lamb and moving stock between paddocks) and our home and gardens were immaculately maintained. Louise and Louis are a delightful couple who took great care of our Jack Russell, Tilly. for a 6 day sit. They were clearly experienced house sitters and well-prepared to accomodate the exercise required for an active doggo like ours. We also really appreciated their flexibility as we requested an extension for their sit. The house was left in immaculate order and Tilly was very happy.

Louis and Louise have just housesit for us for 2 weeks. They managed a pet chook and several others, 2 pigs, a goat, a lame sheep and another. Most importanyly, they cared for our little dog, walking him daily, he was very contented on our return. Our home was immaculate and even the linen was washed and changed. This was our first time using Kiwihousesitters and we were so fortunate to have Louise and Louie. We came home to very happy settled dogs who had been well loved in our absence. L&L had even walked the neighbours dog as we normally do. Louise had lovingly prepared us a meal for our return so we could relax when we got home. Louise and Louis are a delightful couple. Although not very familiar with horses at first, they did an amazing job. The horses were so calm and relaxed with their gentle energy and even our old stand-offish gelding became firm friends with Louis! The garden was spick and span ( a big ask for Autumn!) and the studio was left absolutely spotless! We enjoyed getting to know them and would highly recommend Louise and Louis.

What a lovely couple. We loved having them house sit for us. They looked after Charlie, our dog, property and home so well. They came to us over the Xmas period for six weeks. We had photos sent of Charlie and regular updates on property. Louise and Louis are the type of housesitters you wish for. Very nice, honest and caring couple. 5 star all the way.

This was the first time we had used a house sitter to look after our dog Toby. We were lucky enough to have Louis and Louise who made things nice and simple as they are seasoned pros. Great communications and lovely people. The house was in good shape when we returned and they had looked after Toby really well. We arrived back after three and half weeks away and Louise had made a lovely soup for us. Would not hesitate in recommending them.

No rating John and I cannot recommend Louise and Louis more highly. They looked after our boys, Troy the Labrador X, Poppy the miniature poodle, and Jet the cat. Also the house was spotless. They are a great couple and and we have become good friends. If you are lucky enough to have them answer your advertisement, don't hesitate to have them house sit for you as they are in high demand.

They were the perfect house sitters but even more importantly made us feel very comfortable leaving our spoiled dog Maisy in their care. The house was beautifully looked after, we received wonderful emails telling us what Maisy was up to and returned to home-made soup, chocolate and flowers. We really hope Louise and Louis are available next time we travel.

We felt very relaxed and comfortable with them from our first meeting as it is not easy leaving such a young animal with strangers. We got wonderful e-mails from Louise and Meg weekly with pictures of a very happy puppy. Our home was just as we left it, upon return, and found some lovely little gifts with flowers on the table and homemade soup in the fridge. All in all a great experience.
