Hi, I'm Hanna.

I grew up in Ireland, but NZ has been my home for 22 years now.

I spend NZ winters further north than home these days and after spending some time up in the North Island this summer, I am planning some winter time up north too as I really enjoy my time up there. Otherwise, I am usually based in the South Island and own my own home there.

I am self-employed as a resource management consultant. I also have a 2nd job which is an unpaid volunteer role working in one of my passions being dog rescue and rehoming.

I have lots of hands on experience in volunteering in both busy animal shelter environments and as a co-ordinator of a small local dog rescue in Central Otago, including in-home fostering. Most of the time there are one or two extra dogs or pups or kittens couch surfing at my place while we find them their perfect forever homes. I have also done alot of volunteer work with local cat rescues and have lived with and taken care of farm animals from time to time.

In my personal time I love adventures in the outdoors, being active and keeping fit. I also love more laid back past-times like cooking and growing my own veggies. So if you have a dog that loves a good run/walk, or maybe they are more of the potter around the garden type character, I am happy to give them what they need. My experience means that I am able to care for young or old animals, give medication, and/or follow care plans, if needed.

As I am self employed, I work from home. This allows me more flexibility in how I manage my work and free time balance. It also means pets get to enjoy having company around the house ( I get to enjoy their company too of course!).

I am mature, respectful, reliable and amicable. Being a homeowner myself, I like to keep places clean and tidy, especially when it is someone else's property that I am looking after. I am also a non-smoker.

While I am new to this website, I have experience in house/pet sitting most recently over in Aussie in winter 2022 and then again when I was asked to return to the same property to house/pet sit in winter 2023. I am happy to provide the owners details for a reference. I can also provide reliable NZ references to you if requested.
