52, Teacher (University)
I'm a single, relaxed, non-smoking vegetarian, who works 2/3 of the year in Japan as an English teacher. I live in New Zealand between semesters. I own my own place in Christchurch, but as I rent it out, I try not to impose on my tenant-friend by camping there when I'm back.
I've house-sat for years, including rural properties, lifestyle blocks, church manses, and urban townhouses. I can look after your dogs, cats, chickens, cows, goats, horses, sheep, fish - whatever. I want to give your loved ones the affection, security, and attention they need while you're away, for their peace of mind and yours.
I don't mind gardening or lawn-mowing, and have had jobs doing commercial and hospo cleaning. I recently did a wine harvest in Waipara and am no stranger to physical work!
I live quietly, enjoying running, yoga, hiking, reading, and mooching on YouTube. Your home is your special space and I'm honoured to be invited to look after it for you. It's also my pleasure to care for your beloved furry family as I've no opportunity to keep pets currently. Respect, kindness, and cleanliness are the three things I can humbly offer. Rest assured - I'm a grown up!
[Note: I also have some capacity to provide non-medical, non-professional care for persons of limited mobility who live in your home. My older brother is physically handicapped, so I have been pushing wheelchairs, assisting with shopping/transport/meals, and providing general living support since my pre-teens. However, I stress I do not have any medical training or certification, so can offer myself only as a companion while family is away short-term, in conjunction with any regular carer support for showering and other personal services (e.g. Nurse Maude).}
