I’m an American with NZ citizenship (I lived in Wellington from 1992-1997). I am currently looking for house/pet sitting in Marahau anytime from Dec 17 to mid January 2025. . My son is working as a sea kayak guide and I’d like to be with him for the holidays. I’m not sure if this site is supposed to be about paid gigs, but I’d just be looking to trade free accommodation in exchange.

Im from Pennsylvania - just outside Philadelphia. My husband of 25 years and I are both retired except for managing our 10 residential rental units. He will be joining me in NZ June 2025. We have 2 kids who graduated Uni in April 2024, then both spent 6 weeks OE in NZ : daughter returned to Miami and son stayed and is now living / working in Motueka..

I am a responsible homeowner and landlord, I know how to take care of property and even make small repairs. We don’t have any formal references per se except for our Airbnb customer reviews (search Urban Equine/Lancaster PA).

I’m also a gigantic animal lover - husband is allergic to cats but i would have them if i could. We’ve fostered rescue doggies and have always had at least one dog of our own. I’m not familiar with caring for things like horses or livestock but would be willing to learn to if the owner felt comfortable with me doing that.

I like to ride bicycles, kayak, and basically anything outdoors. I’ve included a profile pic of me from 1995 bike packing from Te Anau to Milford. I’m excited to house and pet sit my way around NZ.
