We are a couple in our late 60s, originally from The Netherlands, that own our own home (and have done so for many years). Currently we are waiting for our new apartment on the North Shore to be completed (expected settlement is Jan 2025), so looking after other people’s houses would be a great way to bridge that period.
We have always taken pride in our house, which was very obvious when the real estate agent who sold our current house remarked that she wished everybody staged their houses like we did. However, it was not even staged, and our house sold for a remarkably high price.
We ran a Homestay for 6 years in Wellington, which was up and running 3 weeks after we moved in, so we know the importance of keeping a house clean, tidy and well presented!
We have had dogs ourselves - Golden Retrievers for many years, and a sweet little Cavoodle for the last 12 years (who sadly passed away a few months ago) - and we look after the dogs of one of our daughters from time to time, so we know how to care for animals, and are happy to care for yours.
