Having looked after over 75 homes in the last 5 years, we fully appreciate the responsibilities and trust that comes with staying in your home and most importantly, caring for your beloved animals.
We take pride in being responsible, meticulous and extremely reliable. We are swift communicators and enjoy sending regular updates while you're away. We have been invited back many times. It is in our nature to leave a place spick and span too — it's just how we roll! We are both non-smokers.
All of our reviews speak volumes of 5-star happy animals and well-respected homes and gardens. While we like to think of ourselves as relaxed and easy-going folk, we take our housesitting duties seriously. You will be able to leave and enjoy your holiday having complete confidence in us. We are also happy to pick up the garden tools or lend a hand with fixing a few things here and there!
Prior to covid, Susanne and I were living in Hamburg but decided to relocate back to New Zealand as the safer option. We built our own mobile tiny home, complete with a full kitchen, so enjoy traveling, feasting and cozy camping in between housesitting.
Our housesits range from a single cat/dog to a menagerie of farm and companion animals. We are experienced with timid and special need animals and have cared for cats, dogs, horses, donkeys, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, cows and fish.
We both love the experiences, opportunities and friendships housesitting forges too. We both share a passion for traveling and meeting new people and their animals. In fact, our most memorable holidays usually include wonderful animal encounters.
I am a freelance web/graphic designer and former executive director of a leading animal advocacy organisation. With nearly 25 years experience advocating on behalf of animals I feel I have a genuine respect and kinship with animals. Susanne (from Germany) also has a deep affinity with animals and is also a qualified equine physiotherapist. In Hamburg, she was a MD managing a media agency.

Anthony and Susanne are just amazing house / cat / garden sitters (see also our previous review :-)), which is why we asked them for this second long term housesit.
While we were overseas for more than 7 months they took care of our house, our outdoor pussycat and our garden, above and beyond.
Anthony and Susanne continued with our garden projects and also put in creativity of their own which fitted perfectly with the vision of our (food forest) garden.

Anthony and Susan were absolutely brilliant! We cannot rate them more highly. Our pets were well cared for (we have a large, rather exuberant 1 year old dog that requires experience), the house was immaculate and they even bought a new brush for our fussy cat. Their friendly communication kept us up to date with with the goings on and we felt completely at ease. We certainly hope they are available next time we go away!

All I can say is Wow! How lucky we were to find Anthony and Susanne to house and cat sit for us. In fact my cat Travis was also very lucky to have the most caring and compasionate couple looking after him. 😸 I have a 19 years young puss puss, and I was nervous having strangers looking after him due to his medical needs and age. From the moment we spoke on the phone to meeting in person, I knew we had made the right choice! 😁

They were absolutely sensational. My three fur babies ( a mini dachshund and 2 cats) were so well looked after and I had regular updates with photos over the 5 days. I came home to three very happy and calm fur babies and my house being even cleaner than how I had left it! They were so generous to do a little spring clean and even wash the bed linen.

We had good contact and communication with Anthony and Susanne before and during our holiday. They looked after the cat and chickens extremely diligently and sent regular photos of a contented cat. Anthony left the house very clean and tidy, a joy to come back to, and had even cooked us a cake for our return. Highly recommended and we felt confident with them looking after our home.

Not only does Mr Bud clearly adore them (verified by several photos that indicated he was having a great time!), they went far beyond any thing I could have imagined, My home was spotless on arrival home, there were some home made goodies in the freezer for me, the over-grown hedges had been tended to, including picking up all the trimming, an ornament had been hung up (one that I didn't ... The fact that Mr Bud was in no hurry to great me with his usual Welcome Home cuddles is a fair indication of how well Anthony and Susanne cared for him. With several photos clearly showing Mr Bud was having a fabulous time in my absence was cool, and Anthony's love, care and knowledge about animals shone through.

We received reassuring and lovely updates. We felt very comfortable to have them in our home. It can often be challenging looking after older animals that tend to be set in their ways but Anthony and Susanne were great masters. There are not enough stars for this lovely young couple. Absolutely amazing. They took their responsibilities with the animals and home very seriously but were also relaxed and enjoyed their time. Pedro and Amy would give them a million stars and it enabled me to relax on my holiday. I was given regular updates and the communication was great. When I got home I was aware of the consciousness of Susanne and Anthony... So tidy, sheets changed, washing folded and lots of help with my garden etc. ... Anthony & Susanne were just amazing...My animals were loved to bits, my house was even better than I had left it and I think its clean and tidy!! And they fixed all these little niggly things around the property just on their own - yip I noticed all the wee things :-). I spent more time with them on my return and we now stay in touch as they are awesome people. They would definitely be my go to people so if you get them you are lucky to have them!

I couldn't imagine better house sitters. We would love to have Susanne and Anthony back to look after our house and kitties whenever we go away. Communication was quick, clear and friendly. We received videos/photos of our cats daily. They even made forts for our kitties to play in. I had to call them back... OK, let me rephrase, I begged them to come back. I'm a teacher w/ 4 of my own kids and 2 border collies. My holiday was awesome, but coming home to a tidy house and happy dogs is icing on the cake. Daily texts W/ pictures of my dog's adventures put my mind at ease that they were happy and well cared for- the main priority. Coming home to find they somehow trained my adorable, but dim puppy to do agility- was amazing. My house was cleaner than I left it? Priceless. I ... MOREI had to call them back... Our menagerie were incredibly well looked after, including poor Wolfe who needed some emergency vet care while we away. Anthony & Suzanne went above and beyond taking such great care of him. Our many house plants are still thriving and they cleaned the house impeccably. As a wedding gift Anthony organised our kitchen & laundry - oh my goodness he's simply ... MOREWOW!! We are still in awe of these guys ♥ We received lots of updates while we were away which were so well received. Anthony and Susanne made the effort to visit us before our trip away and meet our two dogs (a Lab and Vizsla) and cat. Communication was great - we had messages each day with pictures of our Dogs being spoilt (with several new toys appearing in the shots). Susanne even took the time to find a book on Vizslas so that she could do some training with him - and teach him new tricks.

Anthony and Susanne are the most trustworthy and thoughtful housesitters! Not only did our puppy, cat and chooks get the best attention and care with them being around the home most of the time, but they went over and above their house care duties, leaving the house cleaner and tidier than ever. Very relaxed couple, always prompt and easy to communicate with, and they kept us updated with our pets at home while we were away. Would highly recommend these two!

Anthony & Susanne, what an amazing and lovely couple. They visited prior to our holiday to go through the requirements (elderly, nervous dog - miniature horses, hens & roosters). 5 minutes into the visit we felt like we had known Anthony & Susanne for ages, even our shy wee dog Emma was comfortable with these "strangers" and was more than happy to cuddle up next to them on the sofa, this actually told us all we needed to know!

They visited prior to our holiday to go through the requirements (elderly, nervous dog - miniature horses, hens & roosters). 5 minutes into the visit we felt like we had known Anthony & Susanne for ages, even our shy wee dog Emma was comfortable with these "strangers" and was more than happy to cuddle up next to them on the sofa, this actually told us all we needed to know!
Regular text messages, stunning photos of our animals kept us confident all was well at home and no need to worry....
We got home to a spotless house, happy and healthy animals, although Emma did watch them leave with very sad eyes.
You will find it a privilege to have Anthony & Susanne care for your home and your loved pets. I cannot speak more highly of them.

What a relief to be able to head off for a week's holiday and know that everything back home is in such great hands. Anthony and Susanne are amazing house, pet and small farm sitters, taking care of the number of animals we have here would be a daunting prospect for most people but we felt completely relaxed about leaving the team in their care. They lavished so much love on the pets that I think the cats and dogs are still looking around the house to see if they're hiding somewhere. ... Anthony and Susanne were great housesitters. Communication was easy and they made a special effort to get to know us and our pets. The house was left spotless and they took fantastic care of our dog Lola with long beach walks and playtime. Even our grumpy cat Oscar seemed happier. Would love to have them housesit again anytime.

Anthony and Suzanne are fantastic house sitters, their care of the dogs Gus and in particular Bailey (aka Houdini) and Fairly the pony and the regular updates they sent meant I was able to have a great trip away and have no concerns over the wellbeing of my fur family and home. The house and stables/yard when I returned were very clean and tidy, probably tidier than I had left them. They even did some stuff around the garden which was far more than I was expecting. Anthony and Susanne are just amazing house / cat / garden sitters (see also our previous review :-)), which is why we asked them for this second long term housesit.
While we were overseas for more than 7 months they took care of our house, our outdoor pussycat and our garden, above and beyond.
Anthony and Susanne continued with our garden projects and also put in creativity of their own which fitted perfectly with the vision of our (food forest) garden.
