Mature cat and dog loving woman, used to country living. I have experience with large and small domestic animals, and have walked dogs and helped with cat care for the SPCA in Napier. In my past I owned a lifestyle block with a herd of llamas, bred Rottweiler dogs and Siamese cats. I have also fostered stray dogs and cats.
There was a nearly 3 year gap when I was covid-stranded away from NZ and wound that up with a long housesit over winter.
Now, back home I am enjoying other people's pets whilst they travel.

Our housesitter Susan was absolutely fantastic! From walking our dog for over 60 kms and feeding our cat chickens and guinea pigs. She's sent regular photos and messages.

Susan was the ideal sitter for our first experience. She was dedicated to looking after our animals and gave us regular updates on all aspects of our home and animals.. Our home was clean and tidy when we got back and she had even gone for more animal feed for us so we were not short of feed on our return. In short she was awesome!!
Susan has been looking after my husband more this time, than the animals. We had to cancel our trip overseas due to his health, and having her there meant I could continue working.

Susan looked after my house and dog for 6 weeks. She was the perfect house and pet sitter that fitted in with the small town community perfectly. It was stress free for me to have Susan there. She made contact every week and genuinely cared for my little dog. She left the house very clean and made me lunch for my return. My dog is missing her. I highly recommend her and hopefully I can get Susan back one day.
Susan was a wonderful house sitter, excellent communication throughout, and she took great care of our pets and property. We even came back to a 5 month old puppy who was better behaved than when we left!! I can highly recommend Susan, she is totally dependable, as well as a kind and considerate person.
I came home and my house was just as I left it and my animals relaxed and happy. What more can I ask for! Susan kept in regular contact from the time she first got in touch. She is a very calm lady with a natural way with animals. I would be happy to have her sit for us again.

This is the second time we have used Susan to pet sit our 8 year old bull mastiff and he has been well looked after and enjoyed his daily walks to the park.
Susan is also great with communication and would send us short updates of scooby every couple of days.
Susan has been looking after our animals while we were away in November.
She did a great job, the horses and even our very shy cat, Dora, liked her very much.
Looking after our horses was a little different because one of them needs twice daily medication for diabetes.

Make the trip round to our house twice prior to the housesitting date to ensure the animals knew her and that she was comfortable with all the details required for the week. Susan had great communication, sending photos and updates as the week went on. We would love to have Susan look after our house and animals again in future. Highly recommended!

Susan is a very caring, animal- loving sitter who made herself at home without any fuss or effort required by us. She harvested veges and fruit rather than let them go to waste and we arrived home late to find she had made us a tasty dinner. The house was spotless and George contented and well fed. We couldn't recommend Susan more highly. We only wish we could have her back but unfortunately she was heading south.
Susan is reliable, kind, trustworthy and kept our house extremely clean and tidy.
Communication was incredible. We exchanged emails and messages leading up to her sit. Lots of updates with photos (a beautiful Christmas message) while we were gone and catch-up messages afterwards.
She was understanding of our elderly dogs needs and kept our chickens very happy.

Susan house sat for me for 2 weeks, Susan did a fantastic job of looking after my 2 dogs and my home. My home was clean and tidy and my dogs were well looked after they were even looking for Susan to come home which was great to see. We were also in regular contact while I was away with updates on my dogs. Susan is kind and caring and I highly recommend Susan if you are looking for a house sitter, I will definitely be contacting Susan when I need a sitter again.
I can't recommend Susan highly enough. She house sat for me for 5 weeks, and although not a vegetarian herself, accommodated on request to only eating vegetarian while house sitting. More importantly, I have two medium sized dogs (both 11 years), one whom is pretty neurotic and eats when she is anxious (not only food!!), and the other one with sore and weak back legs who needs daily medication (has a degenerative disease which means he's slowly losing the use of his back legs).
