Hello fellow traveler

We are 100% animal lovers who enjoy befriending and cherishing animals - we are those people who animals just come to, and we love sharing the joy that they show. We are also clean, tidy, non-smokers, and love exploring new areas and meeting new people (and animals). We have had our own animals in the past, and are very practiced in managing special diets, routines and medications. Rachael grew up on a farm, so we are more than happy with shifting stock, electric fences and getting our hands dirty. Our house sits so far have included dogs, cats, chickens, horses, cattle, sheep and also tadpoles, goldfish and quail!

We have a permanent home in Oratia, Auckland, and have taken time off work to travel and explore New Zealand together, as our children have now left home. We enjoy house-sitting, as we recognise the best way to experience a place is to live in it - not just visit it!

We relax when the animals are happy, the chores are done and our surroundings are clean and tidy. That means that your home will be well kept and your animals will be well looked after, fed, watered and exercised. Our relaxing will often involve an animal or two smooching on our laps. We don't profess to be amazing gardeners, but we're certainly handy with a watering can or hose.

We know how hard it is to leave your precious furry friends and home in the hands of strangers, so we welcome a face to face meeting or a video/voice call prior to the sit. You can feel completely confident in us and we will be certain on continuing with your routines while you're away. For your peace of mind. we will also keep in touch with you in your absence, hopefully with the odd photo or two, so you can see what everyone is up to. Previous families that we have sat for often say that we feel like part of the family - we now have made many new human and furry friends that we call in to see while on our travels.

How lucky were we to have connected with Rachael & Ron, they were PERFECT for our housesit and pet minding. Our housesit was not straight forward as our pets have their challenges, but this was no barrier for Rachael & Ron, and they gave our fur family every bit of attention and loving care that we could hope for. I couldn't have asked for better house sitters than Rachael and Ron. Their communication and daily updates while we were away were so lovely. When we arrived home the house was cleaner than when we left. The dogs, cats, horses and sheep were all extremely well looked after. Ron and Rachael are the best house/dog sitters ever. I'm fussy when it comes to my dogs and I can tell by their reaction to Ron and Rachael that they adore them. There's a bit of management involved with a geriatric dog and a middle age nervous nellie - Rachael has it all under control. Happy dogs, awesomely tidy house. Total delight.

Rachael was just amazing, took most wonderful care of our little dog (who can be of a diva) and went above and beyond caring for her and the house and the garden. I received daily photos and updates of our dog. It was so reassuring to knowing our dog was in such great hands and so lovely to come home to such a clean and tidy house. I highly recommend Rachael and very much hope she will be able to house sit for us in the future.
