Swannanoa Canterbury

We need a superstar couple to look after our house and more importantly our crew of fur babies- 2 Persian cats and 8 alpacas.

We are looking for someone to stay at the house, to feed and care for the animals, and if you are into gardening you are more than welcome to do some weeding and watering,(but that's definitely NOT a requirement!)

We would ideally like someone/couple who can be home quite a bit, as i am home a lot and the cats enjoy someone being around. Unfortunately this is not suitable if you have children.
We will give you all the information you need to care for the animals so you don't need experience with farm animals, just confidence really.

The house is large and spacious, with large deck outside. Our little piece of paradise is set on 2 hectares, it's peaceful, quiet and tranquil. We are situated in Mandeville/Swannanoa area.

the cats are very easy going,when they get to know you they love cuddles, and if the cats let you ,you can give them a brush.

Maisey and Winston(cats) require a pill each night. i will show you how, but it would be good if you had some knowledge or experience with this(again not mandatory)
The alpacas enjoy daily visits to check water, and to make sure they all look healthy and happy. You can just go and hang out with them which is what i do, and every few days give them hay/lucerne(they will eat out of your hand once they trust you). Our lounge looks out to the paddocks so you can enjoy watching them (much better than tv!!)

We cannot provide a car so you must have your own transport. We do have bikes to use if you would like to.

There is a retail village just down the road that includes a fish n chip shop, Indian, Thai, a bar, bakery and restaurant that are all very good! and a small supermarket.
Rangiora and Kaiapoi are about a 15 min drive from our house.

There is also a few walking tracks nearby which are lovely, and a local market which operates on Fridays.
