I am a 31-year old translator, language teacher and actress from Southern Europe.
I was born and raised in Northern Portugal, in a tiny little village in the countryside. I've always had a lot of cats, dogs and even hens, so I'm used to taking good care of pets and big houses! When I was 19 I decided to leave the country and I've been studying and working abroad ever since in multiple European countries, namely France and Spain, and I now live in Aotearoa.
I've been living in Auckland for almost two years now and I have done almost 40 housesits during this time, not only by myself, but also with my sister Ana and my best friend Maria. They have now left the country, and I am doing housesits on my own. I have really good reviews from the different families I have been housesitting for, as you can see in my profile, and I can also send you references from house owners who didn't write their reviews on time.
I am very communicative (I will send you daily updates and photos) and I pride myself in leaving the houses I stay in very clean and tidy. I am very experienced when it comes to pet care and absolutely love the warmth and love we humans can get from pets. I feel so blessed to be able to housesit cats and dogs and get that love from them during the sit, especially as I don't have any pets of my own here. :)
I am less experienced when it comes to plants. I don't mind watering some plants here and there and that has never been an issue, but if you have a big garden that requires heaps of care and plant knowledge, I might not be your ideal fit, as my plant knowledge is very limited!

Jo is a fabulous house sitter, I fully recommend her. She has a lovely nature and both our dogs warmed to her straight away. She had great communication both prior and during the house sit, including sending us regular photos and videos. The house was spotless when we got back and the dogs were calm and happy. Thanks Jo! 😊

Jo did a fabulous job of looking after our 2 cats and house, we would definitely recommend her! Communicating with Jo was was very easy and she sent regular updates. Our house was left spotless and everything well taken care of. The cats were given lots of attention and will miss her!!
Jo was amazing over the week I was away. She looked after my elderly cat and administered medication, gave me daily photos and updates. The house was clean and tidy when I returned. We entrusted Jo with the care of our cat Kiki and dog Koa. Jo was incredibly attentive to their individual needs and made sure they were both well looked after and most importantly, loved during our time away.

Jo recently looked after our two cats and chickens for 10 days. I appreciated Jo's communication during the sit and the animals seem to have been looked after well. There are a few areas in terms of homecare and garden care where there was a lack of maturity and self sufficiency which we have come to expect from sitters with a fair bit of experience and we have discovered a few things that were broken or damaged or left in an unclean state which demonstrated a lack of care.
Jo is a lovely, mature young woman. I initially interviewed her over Video, and then met her in person a few days before the sit. I loved seeing how my two felines responded to her. I felt very confident about leaving them with her. I absolutely recommend Jo as a house sitter, you would be having someone who is kind, responsible and listens to what your own needs are around the care of your home and animals.
100% would recommend. Jo sent regular photos and kept us all in the loop with things. Our dogs get anxious at night when they don't have people so she sorted them out no problems!
Dogs were her first priority.

Jo and Ana were amazing housesitters for the two weeks they looked after our menagerie of cats, guinea pugs and fish over Christmas and New Years. They kept everything clean and all the pets happy and well fed and medicated (our 17 year old tabby cat who has a range of daily medications included). They also kept our houseplants and garden alive.
Jo sent regular photos and updates on the pets, and Jo and Ana were excellent communicators as well as lovely people.

Jo and her sister took amazing care of our dog and our house. They also left our house super clean and communication was great. We would happily have them housesit again.
Jo & Ana did an amazing job with my older boxer dog & 2 cats. My dog needed morning & evening medication dispensed into her mouth, not the nicest of jobs but done without issues.
My house was cleaner than when I left it & everything was in its place.
Our spa received its daily dose of chlorine & clean cycle.
Communication was fast & friendly, highly recommend these lovely ladies for pet & house sitting.

Well, what can I say?? You girls were fantastic in looking after our home and our 2 fur babies!! Especially with Zeke, who is blind, and Toffee, who is gets very timid with new people around her.
The communication was brilliant, especially when they let me know we had a water problem at home but got that all sorted tho :-) the house was left as we had left it as well.
We can highly recommend these two amazing girls who are getting around our country by house sitting!!
