33, PhD Student/Assistant Professor
Animal lover researching compassion and empathy training interventions. Globe-trotter working entirely remotely. I have lived in 7 countries -- Denmark, Germany, Australia, Norway, Switzerland, Estonia, and France. Grew up with a husky-wolf dog, a Maltese-poodle, a Pomeranian, two Cockatiel birds, two rabbits, a cat (who lived to be 22!), and a ferret! Also lived with three lab dogs for several years in Chicago and three cats (two kittens and one grown) in Copenhagen. Extremely enthusiastic to travel for housesitting and petsitting opportunities.
The connection with animals is extremely sacred to me. I love learning from the way animals develop trust and show affection. My experiences with multiple different types of animals throughout my life have made me extremely comfortable with all animals. Moreover, moving around the world gives me a different perspective on compassion, communication, and trust that I feel I can use to serve in the sitter community.
I have been regularly pet-sitting for friends' cats, dogs, rabbits, and birds over the last 15 years. Worked as a dog walker in Chicago for 2 years. Excellent with lab and husky dog breeds. Also great at calming small dogs who get anxious from storms and fireworks. Amateur botanist who helped develop a community garden in Valby in Denmark. House-sit for my supervisor in Tallinn, Estonia managing a variety of indoor and outdoor (rooftop) plants and flowers.
Since 2021, I have been professionally sitting through TrustedHousesitters and started on KiwiHousesitter in 2023 when I moved to New Zealand. I have several five-star reviews between the two websites and am happy to share my reviews and references.
