  • My mom has a small farm, so I lived and grew up in the countryside. When I was a teenager, we had farm animals like chickens, ducks, and geese, which I enjoyed taking care of and feeding. I also took care of a neighbor's three horses for a few weeks. It was summer, so there was no problem with them spending the night outside. I made sure they had water and moved them to different areas.

Hello, my name is Roque Bascunan. I am 35 years old and I am from Chile. I love animals, from pets to insects. I have always had pets at home, and since I arrived in New Zealand, I miss the contact with animals.

I studied veterinary technical and have some experience in this field, such as assisting the veterinarian, giving injections, and performing minor procedures.

I am a calm, responsible, and organized person who enjoys simple things like listening to music, exercising, cooking, and going for walks, among other things. My partner is also Chilean and shares the same interests as me. She is a psychologist but currently works caring for the elderly. she loves cats, dogs and plants, and also she's always had pets in her home.

My English level is intermediate-advanced, and I am continuing my studies.

Roque and Karen are what I would call, "The Perfect House Sitting Couple." They left my house looking immaculate and even laundered my sheets and pillow cases. They also bought play things for my cat Isadora, as well as cooking me an absolutely delicious tasting Chilean lunch on my return. I would very highly recommend Roque and Karen to all future home/pet owners - you won't be disappointed. They are both House Sitting superstars in my eyes. Shane in the Coromandel.
