Hi! I'm Mel (33). I've recently relocated to Rotorua for a new job following the completion of my Masters in Christchurch.

I've been a casual house sitter in Christchurch over the last 5 years mainly looking after cats, dogs and chickens. As I am looking to house sit more regularly now, I have joined Kiwi House Sitters.

I grew up always having multiple dogs at home with several being trained for agility:
Ben - Greyhound labrador X
Nesha - Border collie boxer X
Millie - Border collie blue healer X
Mo - Red border collie
Stevie - Red border collie
And have dog sat for a variety of breeds:
German shepherd, Weimaraner, Springer spaniel, Golden retrievers, Fox terrier X, Husky lab X.

Outside of housesitting I enjoy running, volunteering with DOC and tramping.

Mel was an absolute star! She was great to communicate with and plan, and as soon as I met her, I felt 100% comfortable having her stay in my home and look after my dog. She left the house better than she found it, and Nuka seemed as happy as always. Mel responded quickly to my check-in text, and gave me a full report afterwards. She noticed Nuka hadn’t eaten a meal (a common occurrence I forgot to warn her about!) but discovered if she stayed near him while he ate, he was more apt to eat. How ... MORE

As with a lot of dog parents I worry about my baby the most when going away, Mel was receptive to my notes, our routine and I was so thankful of her care for Loki. He is just coming out of his teenage phase so can be a bit of a goose but I know he would have enjoyed Mel’s company. Highly recommend!

Mel was a great house sitter. She left the house clean and tidy we hardly knew she even been there and looked after our two cats and dog well. With great communication throughout Can definitely recommend and would use her again.
