I have been in New Zealand since August 2022 and have been housesitting my way around for the past two years from Auckland to Te Anau and plenty of places in between.
Previously sitting as a couple and now continuing solo, I have just been granted a third year extension which will prolong my NZ adventure until 2025.

I started pet sitting around nine years ago for friends and family before moving to Canada for two years. Whilst there, I built up a wealth of experience looking after cats and dogs, both young and old and have also looked after farm animals and smaller animals too. I also have experience of giving medication to some of the pets under my care. Upon returning to the UK I continued to housesit locally and am now looking to pet and house sit in the Auckland area.

Back in the UK I worked as a laboratory technician for a veterinary investigation centre. I love being outdoors and exploring, (if I have a four legged friend exploring with me then so much the better!) but am equally content curled up on the sofa with a kitty or taking a slow stroll around the block with an older doggo!

Being a homeowner myself for over a decade, I understand how important it is to have someone reliable and trustworthy living in your home and looking after your pets. I am a fit and healthy non-smoker, capable of garden and household maintenance if required.

I have previously used 'Trusted Housesitters,' 'Housecarers' and 'Canadian Housesitters' and through those sites have done long term sits (6 months+) and short term and I can send a number of references as attachments via message. I can provide direct contact details for further references if required.

Katie and Matt are superb house sitters we really can’t recommend them highly enough! We’d give them 6 out of 5 stars! We were confident leaving them in charge of the household as soon as we met them as due to their friendly and professional demeanour also their kindness towards Evie. We feel so blessed that Katie & Matt took care of our home and our cat Sugar while we were away. This was our first experience having house sitters & we couldn’t get any better than them! Katie and Matt were incredible. This was our first time using house sitters and we had the best experience. They not only looked after our house beautifully but took moose on adventures and ensured he received all the attention he demanded. We loved how communicative they were, sending photos and updates and replying really quickly. Coming home to a beautifully clean house, milk and bread in the fridge and a happy pup was the best. We Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Katie and Matt have been excellent house sitters. I would reccomend them for their professional attitude towards my cat and home. Pepe ,the cat, was very comfortable in their company ,the house was immaculate on my return. Katie and Matt communicated with me regularly with delightful photos. We met before I went away and again on my return.They thoughtfully stocked my fidge with some basics and left a pot of Spring flowers with a personal card featuring a photo of the beautiful Pepe.
