Denis & Karen

Hello. We are Denis and Karen, new to the site, We have been home and pet sitting for the past few years and have loved every unique opportunity. We have a lot of respect for animals; nature and life in general. We endeavour to take care of your home and your animals as if our own. House and pet sitting is to us an ideal mix of trust, service and reciprocation with hopfully lots of cuddles in between. We will be travelling around New Zealand from late November to February 2025. We have friends to visit in both the north and south islands, but we would like to make some new friends along the way!

We love travelling and love animals which is how we arrived to be sitters. Our personal combined pet family has included dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, hens, ducks, cows, rabbits, terrapins bees and fish. We have looked after homes and pets in Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Lapland and the Azores as well as France and the UK.

More than all we enjoy the chance to spend time with animals while we are far from home and give them the care, love and attention you as owners would otherwise be able to heap on them.

We have made some great friends since our home sitting journey began and we stayed in contact with most of them. If you can see beyond our age, you will see two active, fun loving adventurers.

Denis has over 20 years experience of working in green spaces, surveillance of secondary residences, garden design and maintenance and care and maintenance of swimming pools. He has been a reserve firefighter. Having enjoyed a busy working life Karen has recently retired. She is now enjoying the freedom to pursue new projects. She loves the outdoors, walking and hiking, gardening and learning new skills. She has recently earned her Manitou and her Tractor badges! The horses in our picture gallery are her horses. The German shepherd is Oscar her dog and the Landy is Denis and Karen's preferred transportation when travelling :) sadly not to NZ ;(

Because we are new to Kiwi House Sitters, our references have to be provided separately for the moment [from 2 other sites we our members of] and private sits we have done.
