Holly & Huw

Kia ora!

We’re a down-to-earth couple from North Wales, UK, currently on an adventure through New Zealand to catch up with family and soak in the local way of life. Back home, we have a lovable three-year-old black Labrador named Ripple, who we miss dearly. That’s why we’d be thrilled to look after your furry friends!

Both of us grew up surrounded by animals. Huw’s parents have a lively pack of five dogs—two Labradors and three Bichon Frises—while Holly grew up with a playful Collie-cross named Roxy, followed by a spirited Welsh Border Collie named Lola (seriously, full of beans!) along with a cat called Lemon. Huw’s grandparents own a farm in North Wales, Anglesey, with 15 horses, where we spent countless hours helping out and learning the ropes of animal care and going to the beach paddle boarding with the dogs.

We come from families that instilled a deep respect for animals and people and to treat people how you would want to be treated. Holly is fantastic at following instructions, especially when it comes to medical needs or feeding schedules— Huw is best at reading dogs emotions; always up for keeping them entertained and has an uncanny knack for connecting with dogs; he even helped his dad raise two litters. Let’s just say he might be part dog himself. And yes, he really, really misses Ripple (Our black Labrador).

We also help out on a farm in Ireland where we lived for a year, with mucking out the horses

Work and Interests:
Huw is a Search Engine Consultant and so works remote from any location providing there is internet. He is also a budding entrepreneur and is building an online art platform in the UK. Huw loves to go paddle boarding and hiking in the hills. Also if there is an opportunity to go sailing or skiing he's the first to jump in.

Holly worked as a construction site manager in Manchester, UK, managing the Mechanical and electrical services contractor to build high rise accommodation and pharmaceutical plants. Holly loves the beach activities like swimming and paddle boarding, as well as exploring on a hike or skiing.

Availability:
We will be arriving in New Zealand 10th of December 2024 and will be the for 3 months and we are very flexible as to location across North and South Island.

Services Available:
We would be happy to offer dog walking, feeding, administering medication, overnight stays.

We would be happy to cut lawns and water plants and of course keep the house clean for your return.

We’d love the chance to care for your pets as if they were our own, bringing both love and a little bit of humor to the task. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry companions!
