Hi my name is Jon, Originally from Wales and love being here in Nelson and have lived here for 4 1/2 years. I have several years experience of looking after animals of all types and needs. I’m a gardener by trade so if your a way for a while and your garden needs some care I could attend to that if required. I get great pleasure from taking dogs for a walk/run especially at the local beach and local dog walking trails and has lots of experience of doing this. I am comfortable with different dogs with different temperaments and am confident with dogs on and off the lead. These experiences have taught me how to make this a great experience for the dogs and owners. I am also aware that I am looking after your house so aswell as keeping your pets safe and happy I take it very seriously that I to keep your house clean and tidy.

Jon has completed 2 housesits for us in quick succession. His little dog Buddy plays very happily and busily with our two dogs and Jon likes to take them all for walks in the park or on the beach so we come back to tired and contented dogs - particularly helpful for our youngest dog Meg. The house is left clean and tidy and Jon communicates readily.

Jon is honest, kind and laid-back. He ensures the dogs are very well looked after. This is the third time he has done a sit for us and often leaves an item or two behind but that is no problem as he is local. Jon leaves the house clean and tidy.

Jon was a reliable and trustworthy sitter. He left the house in excellent condition. We have two dogs. One is nervous and is difficult to work with. Jon tried very hard to establish a relationship. His communication was excellent. He cared for the chickens and fed the birds while maintaining the garden. We would be keen to have Jon look after our place again.

I'm very disappointed to have to post this but our house sit was more than disappointing. I left the house very clean and clear instructions that the garden and my pots needed watering, well my pot plants are as good as dead and our home was very very dirty. It was like a teenage boy had stayed, not enough room to say how bad it was. I did not need to come home from holiday to so much to do! While we were away boundaries were pushed by asking to use our vehicle and to put his business waste ... MORE

Jon has a great rapport with dogs. He left the house clean and tidy. Jon is a good communicator.

Jon was good at communicating and left the house tidy and clean. He took my cat Martini to have his stitches out and looked after him very well even though the cat was not used to being locked inside due to having stitches from a cat bite abscess. I would happily have him again.

Jon stayed at our house and looked after our Border Terrier for a little over 2 weeks. We met prior, he was very easygoing and we felt confident that Ivy would be in safe hands. Jon kept in touch whilst we were away, including sending photos of Ivy and telling us about adventures they’d been on. It was very reassuring to know she was in good hands! I definitely recommend Jon if you have beloved pets requiring care :)

I didn't meet Jon but he was a godsend to me when let down whilst I was out of the country. He was able to step in to house sit for a few weeks at short notice, and had the relevant experience with a big, post surgery dog needing physio. Just what I needed. Much appreciated.

Asher & Jon were able to help us out on short notice for a short sit in early Feb and we were ever so grateful. We weren't able to meet Jon before the sit but we met Asher & that gave us peace of mind that our two little dogs would be well cared for. The house was clean and tidy on our return and it was good to catch up with Jon then too. We would thoroughly recommend Asher & Jon for house-sits and would have them back in the future.

This young couple looked after our active dog and home for a 3 day weekend. Took her some lovely places for walks and communicated well about things.. A pity they had to leave before we got back but Sadie obviously very happy with them though so all good.
