Kia Ora everyone!

I am an animal lover and a certified SPCA Foster mum with 2 years of fostering experience. I fostered kittens and cats out of surgery, those needing socialisation, and those just needing a quiet and safe place. I have syringe fed kittens and pilled many an unhappy cat! I was mum to a lovely cat who lived to 14 years and was my best mate!

I grew up in a family with cats and dogs and birds and ducks! Animals have always been a part of my life. We even had our family purebred dogs as special guests at my wedding!!

My pet sitting experience began in 2020 and has grown quite a lot in 2022, 2023, and 2024. I have been joined by my husband and we have been full time petsitters for 6 months in 2023 and 2024. In 2024 we looked after 106 animals including:
CATS: shy, indoor & outdoor, kittens, elderly cats needing meds,
DOGS: puppies, purebred , elderly dogs needing meds
CATTLE: cows and calves (mini cows and other fancy breeds)
CHICKENS: free range, housed, fancy Chinese and others
BIRDS: an aviary of different exotic and other birds
Other: goats, sheep, fish ponds, frogs, pigs (kunekune), horses, and donkeys!!
We are experienced at "farm or lifestyle block sits" as well and can moooove cows and electric fencing.

We have looked after large rural blocks, gardens, glasshouses full of vegies, orchards, and mown large and small lawns.

Please note: We are available from DEC 1 2024 to May 2025 !
Matt is an IT guy who works from home all day and enjoys taking dogs on walks.

We know how anxious you may get leaving your furry friends - as I get exactly the same when I have left pets and gone away myself. We love sending you photos of your pets and updates so that you can be reassured you they are happy and well!

We are home owners so understand the need to keep a place tidy and clean and look after the house when someone is away. It's important that the house does not look like someone is away and switch on lights, get the mail, keep up the mowing and so forth to prevent burglaries. I know how to manage a property and to look after your hard earned investment. I can tell you more about this aspect, I know it's really important!!

I am an experienced gardener and have looked after greenhouses full of plants, mowed lawns, and have weeded and watered many a garden. I have planted 1000s of native trees for my professional work!

I am a conservation educator and a whale researcher - lots of hats hey? My work in Auckland is is contracted which means I am often working from home on reports and grants and will have plenty of time to look after your pets.

WE DONT SMOKE OR VAPE - Yuck! I am not really a drinker - but enjoy the occasional Baileys!

We enjoy reading books, going for walks, photography and watching a good documentary. We are mature in age and nature and would be happy to look after your furry friends and your house. You wouldn't have to worry about them while we are there - we got this!!

In 2024 my husband Matt an IT professional will be joining me. Matt works from home so will be able to care for your pets as well!

Laura and Matt did a wonderful job looking after our cat Charlie the chickens and our steers and sheep. They kept us well informed and sent great photos. They were able to get a wayward sheep back in its paddock and put up a barrier so it could not get out again. They also sorted a solution for the boat when the outboard ended up on the drive. The house was clean and tidy. We would recommend them and have them sit for us again

It was wonderful to be able to go away on holiday and feel totally comfortable knowing that our kittens would be well cared for. This was the first time we have left our complex pets ( in age, medically, personality and number!)and had a holiday in years so were anxious about the process and leaving our animals! We returned to a very happy, settled and well cared for dog. Although Laura may have found our 9 month old fox terrier puppy a little energetic, she did everything to give Lucy a good time. Laura also kept us fully updated on Lucy’s activities which I really appreciated. I would happily have Laura look after Lucy in the future.

She was also house sitting for us when Cyclone Gabrielle decided to make her presence felt and kept us well informed regarding what was happening at our property during the event. From the moment we met Laura, we knew all would be well. The dogs took to her immediately - she was tuned to them and she took best care of them., giving them a fun time. Laura is an experienced housesitter , has a great personality and we would definitely recommend her!
