Maree.

62, volunteering & exercise, learning compputer

Hi, I'm Maree
I have had nothing but 5 star reviews and excellent references and happy to share my police vettings. . So I'm excited to know if anyone needs a hand to be able to enjoy that well deserved upcoming getaway! Just an FYI: Most of my sits are repeat sits that contact me directly and so then don't show on 'confirm sits' on this site. & also means they can't put up a second review It's best to check my avaialabilty calendar on here or send me a message please. I'm a local resident & am fortunate to get to know 'my' fur babies as I do repeated sits for them ongoing.

*THINGS I'M HAPPY TO DO FOR YOU
Christmas 2022 I started out as a pet/house sitter and have fallen in love with all pets so far. I am very happy to look after pets, walk dogs, cuddle any pet, water garden/plants, and collect the mail.

I love pets that are owned by responsible pet owners and am very happy for dogs to be inside & on my bed if you want. I understand if a pet needs to be on a particular diet, needs extra attention etc.

I can foto/ video  updates of fur/feather babies, (especially on the first few days of the first sit when they may be feeling a little vulnerable), to let you know how they're going. If it is suitable for you, it may  settle your fur babies more  to meet me before I start my stay and care for them, especially if they stress when your suitcases come out
.
I'll look out for expected parcels & let you know when they arrive if you want. I'll net any fruit developing on your trees & veges, water gardens and mow reasonable sized lawns.

*ME PERSONALLY
I'm NZ born & live in Hastings. Have always owned a home since I was 20yrs. Double vaxed & double boostered & 6 monyhly boostes. Am a non smoker/drinker or recreational drugs. I enjoy going for group workouts, jogs & swims & bike rides, learning about basic computer stuff, scrabble & doing volunteer work. I don't wear shoes inside.

FOOD
Basic and healthy kiwi european most of the time. I have no dietry concerns. Providing my own &/or recieving &/or using up things you want so thay don't go off while you're away all works.

CLEANLINESS
I leave it as I find it. Patient, compassionate & understanding of older pets' aging process with toileting.

PRIVACY
I have clear ideas of who I want to be as a person regardless of others knowing or not, I never look through people's drawers and things and being a Dr Joe Dispenza skife practices tudent solidifies that.

*MY PETS EXPERIENCE
As a kid I used to rescue animals off the road. I have owned ducks, cats, a budgie, kingfishers, baby possum, moreporl and a dog. My dog earned certificates including canine good citizen, slept on  my bed & was trained by Hawkes Bay Dog training club & dog trainer Alistar Needs to visit rest homes, Heretaunga Women's centre and the Chatham dementia home. I  loved and at times feel the missing of my pets.

VISITORS
I very occasionally have a visitor for a cupa or meal. I'd allow no alcohol, smoking, music etc. Just a quiet chat/game of scrabble. I have I fur bay sit that can't handle visitors so I'm happy to accomodate that.

*MY VOLUNTEERING
I live in Hastings  and am volunteering to help raise money for the very elderly to afford decent housing, (This involves a sausage sizzle about 3 times a year for about 2-4 hours.) and once a week help with food parcels for our outdoor/fringes community folk, (this involves 2 hours once a week).

*MY HOUSE SITTING TO DATE
I have retired, (62yrs), & Dec 2022 did a house sit at Te Awanga and jolly loved it. And I would love to do that again every now and again, (not full time as it's for enjoyment only as my family are out of towners).
I truly enjoy seeing the different personalities of the animals, (shy or tummy splayed in the air and the world is a wonderful place or  jump jump "what's next huh huh?") and interacting with them.
I've got repeat sits that include a one fur baby, an older kittie who  is adorably 'his own person' who doesn't sit on laps but wants to be near me and I always look forward to pet/house sitting him.
Also I look forward to caring for  2 unbelievably cute personalities, ( big dogs),. Again both lovely families, a cute little dog and bunny.  And another cute little bouncy young dog and parrot and some more dogs and cats who I now know their personalities/habits. I love them all and chat away to them. Plus some fish. Currently falling in love with a Corella parrot who was born with deformed feet, which makes me love him more....little trickster, plus more

I'm finding a bonus of folk who want pet sitters is that they seem to be responsible and genuinely nice people who are very attentive to their pets and kids.

*HOUSE SITTING AGREEMENT
I'm also happy to sign a house sitting agreement.

I would like decent wi-fi. I am happy to house sit in Hastings. I am commfortable if fur baby parents want to try me out and then go on to try some-one else out. I am usually booked a fair few months in advance but very occassionally, I change a sit's date due to a fur baby or their family member needing an unexpected operation or their work changing holiday dates and such like, and then I will have an unexpected availabiliity gap come up. I' post that at the top of this page when it happens.

CLEAN POLICE CHECK AND CHARACTER REFERENCES
I have my clean police check from when I taught kiddies 6 yrs ago and a newer clean record as of Feb 2023. I have always had a clean criminal record and driving record. I have references from places I donated to.

I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby/s.  Maree :)

Maree is wonderful to deal with. She truly cares for your animals and it was great to meet up prior to discuss everything. I would fully recommend Maree as a house sitter and your pets will be totally spoilt.

KIRSTY (Hastings , Apr 2024 - 1 week 2 nights)
Oh bless thankyou. I miss the fur babies & upon waking up the first morning away I thought I heard you dog door & Rosie' tiny mew ha ha. I'm pleased you had a good trip, (with no snakes), & got to drive that big boat with your firends.
Maree was wonderful. She took great care of Poppy and I was completely confident in her. Communication was great and the house was much tidier and cleaner than I left it. I highly recommend Maree as a pet/house sitter and I hope she will look after Poppy again.

JAN (Mahora North Island, Jul 2023 - 4 days)
What can I say, Marie was excellent and so went above and beyond what was ever expected! It was such a joy to come home and find all the bits Marie had done and it was so unexpected. We loved the videos that we got each morning so we knew that our Charlie was being looked after and in safe hands. Think that he is missing her already. I would totally recommend Marie as a house sitter and your pets will be totally spoilt.

KIRSTEN (Havelock North , Jul 2023 - 1 week 1 day)
Marie kindly looked after our 2 dogs for 16 days while we were overseas. Marie was thorough with meeting up on two occasions prior to our trip to meet us and our dogs and discuss care and house details. While away Marie’s care for our dogs and property was wonderful; she went out of her way to look after everything and we were sent daily video reports. I would be very happy to recommend Marie for any future pet sitting arrangements, especially if you are looking for someone who goes ... MORE

Maree took amazing care of our pets and house. She was thorough and thoughtful with communication before the stay, and left our house in great condition. Our dog was very lucky to have such warm and generous company while we were away.

You're very welcome. Pats to the georgeous fur baby and have a great day
Marie went above and beyond for our kitties and for us. Our daughter was constantly given updates with how they were and when we returned Marie had handled things that we didn't expect! Tabitha and Chloe were looked after and given lots of love in their home enviroment while we were away, Thank you Marie
