We are experienced pet/animal owners, having had our own cats and dogs over the years, as well as chickens, pigs and our daughter's horse. We have looked after our pets into old age and have experience administering medication and caring for elderly pets. We have also fostered kittens for the SPCA previously (caring for very young and injured kittens). We are caring, responsible and honest and can provide references from informal housesits we have done for friends and neighbours.

We enjoy gardening and have a large vegetable garden and polytunnel at our 3.2ha off-grid property in the Far North of NZ, which we have established ourselves with our own hands from scratch over the last 8 years, including building a substantial earth roundhouse.

We previously owned and ran a 5ha property with a vineyard in Canterbury, so we are comfortable looking after and managing more complex/involved properties.

We have had housesitters from kiwihousesitters.co.nz in the past to look after our current property, and we know how important it is to feel comfortable and have peace of mind when leaving your home and pets in the hands of others, so we pride ourselves on being responsible, reliable, honest and good communicators.

Finding ourselves pet-less for the first time in years we would like to take the opportunity to travel around NZ and look after and bond with your pets and care for your property.

We were so lucky to find Jon & Viki. This was the first time we had used unknown house sitters for our animals and were a little anxious. We needn’t have worried. Their communication was good and our 2 dogs and our very reclusive cat were very well looked after. Normally our cat hides under the bed when strangers are around, but he ventured out after a couple of days.
