Fred & Shannon

Greetings fellow animal lovers!
We are a retired couple, married 42 years who have always loved to travel. We are responsible, honest, caring & non-smoking. We love exploring new places and cultures, meeting new people and believe in living life to its fullest. . Even though we have traveled throughout the world NZ still ranks at the top for us!
Our daughter and her husband have lived in both North and South Island
locations for the past 10+ years and have called Gizzy ‘home’ for 6 years. Recently we welcomed our first grandson born May 2024, so we know more frequent visits are assured!
We use a housesitting site (trustedhousesitters.com) at our home in California so that we can travel with confidence that our 2 year old pup ‘Murphy’ is loved and well cared for. We are personally aware of how important it is to find caregivers you can trust with your fur babies giving you the freedom to travel with confidence that all is right at home..
In addition to travel our interests are hiking, yoga, adventures on the road in our caravan, cooking, movies, and of course spending time with dear friends and family.
We had cats & dogs our entire lives (frankly we can’t imagine not having them!) We have also had a variety of snakes, lizards, fish, turtles, chickens, and even a tarantula! Both Fred & our daughter have had horses for years. Our pets have always been an important part of our lives.
Although we are new to offering our house/pet sitting services you can feel confident in our commitment to love and care for your pets and home as if it were our own. Our motto is “always leave a place better than we found it” and we always do.
