Jonathan & Rieke

We're Jonathan and Rieke and we're available for House and Pet Sitting across New Zealand (currently the South Island).

We have our own home in Whanganui, but we're wanting to experience life in other locations to help us decide where we'd like to settle next. Here's some info about us:

- We are responsible caretakers 🏡 As home owners, we understand the responsibility of caring for someone else's home. We'll treat it with respect and care, keep things clean and tidy, and are capable of taking care of minor issues that may arise.

- We LOVE animals 🐶 We have experience caring for dogs, cats, chickens, horses, a peacock (seriously!), and other farm animals. We're both very confident with a range of animals.

- We're keen gardeners 🌱 We love growing our own kai and we're experienced with caring for veggie gardens, fruit trees, and general property upkeep.

- We have experience with house sitting 👍 Jonathan did house sitting for a year when he was saving to buy his first home. Rieke has done a couple of house sits over the years. Unfortunately, my previous house sitting Facebook page with reviews etc no longer exists, but we do have a bunch of glowing Airbnb reviews!

- We can come to you 🚐 We're travelling around New Zealand in our camper van this summer. We haven't quite figured out where we want to live permanently (Whanganui is nice, but we're open...). So we're seeing this as an opportunity to "try out" a few different locations.

- We're flexible 💻 We both work remotely online and are travelling so we can easily move to where the house sitting opportunities are. Hence the name 'Nomadic House Sitters'.

- We're free 🤝 We don't expect any kind of payment for house sitting services, we simply see it as a mutually beneficial exchange. We are open to paying for power etc, especially for longer sits.
