Hello dear house sitting community

In November 2023 I'll return to NZ where I was born and raised (Canterbury!) after living abroad for 12 years ... Austria, Nigeria, Mexico, China, France, Myanmar, Germany, UK. I have spent the last decade investigating, first hand, genocide (the Rohingya genocide) and war crimes, in my roles as a human rights lawyer with the United Nations and academic doctor at Queen Mary University of London. As you can imagine, this work took a toll on me emotionally, and so, with a heavy heart I paused this work two years ago. I am retraining as a herbalist and deep tissue massage therapist and focusing on my young family's needs. I adore being a body worker, and the invitation to deeply root into my own body's intelligence, intuition, and healing capability.

My husband, Alex is a highly skilled and talented master builder and communications specialist - he offers brilliant (in my opinion!) trainings and workshops on how to create deeper inter-personal connections and resolve conflict. He works with individuals, with parents and teens, and companies.

Earlier this year we birthed a little boy in Austria, Alex's homeland and look forward to spending time with my family and introducing little Māhi to his other homeland.

We are dreaming of a small piece of land in the countryside of Aotearoa to set up our own home, with animals, including chickens, puppy, kitten ... maybe a goat or pig two! And a big vege + fruit garden.

In the meantime, and in between family reunions in the south Island, we'd love to care for the precious space that is your home (and animals if you share the space with them!). We have extensive experience taking care of animals, gardens, building maintenance, swimming pool care, and pouring love into home spaces. In my experience in all the countries we've lived, Alex has been able to repair anything home related! In case you'd need any minor maintenance along the way.
