Dreaming of international house-sitting in my retirement, but first I'd love to gain experience (and references) in New Zealand. I'm happy to try all types of sits, including weekends anywhere in the lower North Island.
I'm reliable, responsible and an excellent communicator. I keep a clean and tidy home and prefer to sit in similar conditions.
A little bit about me: I've had dogs and cats for years, but sadly none at present due to work commitments. A home owner for 43 years. Developed and maintained gardens - would love to look after a vegetable garden. Lived on a farm for 20 years and happy to do light chores. Well-travelled professional working in Wellington with government security clearance. For fun when I'm not playing with my grandchildren, I like to play Bridge, sing in a choir, attend live theatre, and go walking.

Patti was a excellent sitter. Communication was clear and prompt and I arrived home to a very tidy house and happy pets - thank you! I would very happily have Patti sit for me again and recommend her to anyone requiring a housesitter.
We had Patti care for our 2 dogs, house and garden for almost 4 weeks over December 2023. She is an extremely down to earth, easygoing house sitter who is very reliable and easy to communicate with. She connected well with our dogs, even Freddy, our golden retriever, who can be a bit obstinate at times. Patti housesat for us during our trip down south after we had a last minute emergency cancellation. We knew we were leaving our house in trusting hands the moment we all met. Patti did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats, sending us updates and pictures on a regular basis.

Patti looked after our lifestyle block very competently . Her duties included caring for hens ,ducks and 37 sheep . She also weeded and watered our vegetable garden and watered various " nursery " plants in pots . The vegetable garden grew amazingly while we were away and we came home to an increased duck flock due to Patti 's careful care !We also came home to milk in the fridge and flowers in the house which was a lovely suprise .We would be very happy to. have Patti housesit for us again .
Patti is a great communicator and incredible house sitter. She went over and above by sending photos of our 2 dogs and 2 cats and letting us know how everything was going each day. We can tell how well looked after the animals were by how relaxed they were when we got home. The house was immaculate when we arrived home. Highly recommend Patti and would very happily have her in our home again.
Patti did such an amazing job of looking after our home and our dog Penny while we were away.
Even before the sit Patti made the effort to come and meet us and Penny and get a lay of the land about the house. We got lovely messages and photo updates when we were away about Penny's adventures, which the kids loved. We were delayed coming back and Patti went above and beyond to rearrange her commitments to stay another night.

Patti was a star, great communication leading up to the sit and seemed relaxed about taking on the various responsibilities which really helped us to feel relaxed about going away for a break.
Patti then followed this up during her stay with a daily text message to tell us how things were going and what the pets had been up to.

Patti was a wonderful sitter! She took good care of our dog, walking daily as requested and following the feeding schedule. The house was very clean and tidy when we returned, plants were watered, all towels and bed linen were washed and we really appreciated the daily texts telling us all was well.
Patti was awesome with two boisterous Labradors to deal with. She kept in daily communication with us about their comings and goings. The house was tidy when we got back and my plants were watered even though I didn't ask for that! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Patti to others A++
We would have her back here in a shot if she was available next time we go away.
