Hi,

I'm just coming back down to earth after a law degree and am travelling about in my vintage caravan with my canine 'wingman'. He is sociable and well-mannered, but blind, so needs to be able to come indoors wherever we are (tho' these days also has his caravan to retreat to, if necessary). That's not him in the pics (must update) ... meals were prepared for pigs and other pampered pets ... home-made bread rolls - those were the days!

Wherever possible we try to meet prospective 'sit-mates' in advance, but haven't ever had any issues - have actually found that bringing a new playmate along can help compensate for absent whanau - for dogs at least!

We'll definitely be in the lower NI and the Far North at various points over the summer (thus potentially anywhere in between), so am looking to reboot the house-sitting lifestyle we enjoyed as part of the studying years.

Enjoy all animals and gardening, happy to take on 'special needs' critters and have been a lifestyle-blocker in a past life, so understand pumps and fences and moving stock and all that rural stuff.

We would love to hear from you !

Sitting engagement actually extended so still ongoing (in fact remains somewhat open-ended) but didn't want to miss the opportunity to contribute a positive review. AC has been great, a rare find. Oscar the cat couldn't be happier, and the house looks better than it did when I left it. Bear in mind we're talking about a remote 120-year-old farmhouse, part of a deceased estate that's being managed remotely through massive changes - i.e., it's an unusual situation for all of us. Fortunately ... MORE

Amanda is a fantastic house sitter - we would highly recommend her to anyone in need! She looked after our animals and home like they were her own - in fact, I think our dogs were somewhat disappointed when we came home! Amanda's dog, Huri, is an absolute gentleman and impeccably behaved - he slotted into our pack like he'd been there forever. We would have Amanda back in a heart beat!

Amanda and Huri (her blind dog) came to stay with my dog Suzi and cat Wiremu. Amanda is a very caring person and Huri is just such a nice boy! He has such good manners and was VERY passive, only knew how to smile. Amanda stayed the last night of her stay with me as she is just so easy to get along with and cares very much about harmony and animal welfare. Do not be deterred by our Huri, he is now part of the family and Wiremu my cat loved having them there.

We are so lucky to have found Amanda. She cares, loves and has a very good understanding of the needs of all critters and animals. Amanda is cheerful and very easy to work with. Everything was in its place; it was as though we had not been away for 4months. She managed the household with no apparent concerns. We do not hesitate in recommending Amanda as a five star house sitter and hope in the future to be able to use her again.

Amanda is amazing! Couldn't recommend her more highly! Her communication was excellent as well as humorous and heartfelt. She took fantastic care of our fur babies and our home. We came home to a fabulously clean home and three happy fur babies. Could not ask for more and would have her back in a heartbeat!

I perceive that I am the luckiest home-owner in the Land of the long white cloud! It was almost by chance that Amanda came to house-sit - but more important - cats-sit my home. I have two fur-babies, the older one had been quite ill, and the vet had recommended that I euthanise her. I was distraught - however I could see the logic of not leaving 'a house-sitter' with a problem. I did not know Amanda! She was also appalled at the thought. Amanda assured me that she would work with ... MORE
