Traveling like A Local

Kia ora! I would love to be your pet’s “grandma” while you travel. Recently retired, I love adventure but I'm not in a hurry. I like to travel like a local - stroll around the neighborhood, fix my own meals, water the plants and read with a cat on my lap.

I'd like to be in New Zealand up to 6 months. All or part of this time I may have a traveling companion (most likely my retired sister). While I'll be traveling too far to bring my sewing machine and construct quilts while I’m there, I'd love to meet up with quilters and fabric artists.

Currently I live in Portland, Oregon, USA. As a responsible homeowner myself I will keep the property tidy and can trouble shoot problems should any arise. I’m a cat person (currently with an 9 yr old Domestic Short Hair tortiseshell), but also fondly had a dog named Fuzzy years ago. Your family will be my family while I am visiting at your place.

In the past I have volunteered with non-profit organizations in Central America and Africa. I’d love extended house sits where I can take in local culture, nature, history and culinary delights at my own pace. The top of my bucket list is New Zealand so I am excited to find this Kiwi Housesitters website. I look forward to meeting you and your pets.
