Returning to New Zealand from BKK

Sue and I returned to NZ in July 2024 after 5 fantastic years working in an international school in Bangkok. Since our return we have been house sitting around NZ. This is giving us the wonderful opportunity to rediscover the beauty of NZ and reconnect with friends and family scattered throughout. We are absolutely loving this new adventure. Of course our first priority is looking after your homes and caring for your adored pets but moving around the motu also allows us to explore the local surrounds including the many great cycling and walking trails.
We are currently on our 8th house sit and although some have been arranged privately you can see several reviews on this website. So far we have cared for dogs, cats, hens, sheep and ponies.
Sue and I are fit and healthy and we’re loving the freedom to be active, that house sitting allows.
Before moving to Thailand we had our own property and pets and as such believe we are ideal candidates to look after someone else's home. We are fully prepared to look after pets, maintain lawns and do gardening as required or any other tasks associated with your property.

Ideally we would be looking for house sits that are for 2 weeks or longer.

We are security conscious, reliable, responsible and would treat your home with respect. Thanks for considering us.

Michael and Sue looked after our cat very well. I think she was disappointed when we returned. They were friendly and regularly communicated with us. The house was nice and clean and tidy when we got back.

We cannot recommend Michael and Sue more highly. Our dogs and cat fell in love with them, our house was spotless on our return and they were always very respectful of the fact they were staying at our home.

We cannot praise Sue and Michael enough. I would put them in the premium bracket of Housesitters . Their care and attention to our old retriever Finn and his bouncy pup brother Beau was outstanding and made our trip away carefree . The daily texts and photos showed us how lovingly they were being looked after. Communication was brilliant and we felt an instant rapport with them upon our first meetup. From our point of view Michael and Sue were the ideal House/Pet sitters. They cooperated and communicated well from the start and even made some changes to their plans when we were forced to change some of ours at the start, due to circumstances beyond our control. Our little dog Livi was obviously comfortable with them from the start and we came home to a very contented dog. Michael and Sue are a lovely couple, they looked after our house and animals for two weeks and did a great job. The house was nice and clean and all animals were happy and healthy. Communication has been good, and easy to deal with. We wouldn't hesitate to have them back.
