Hello!
We are Robert and Sabine, I am Kiwi and my lovely partner Sabine is a New Kiwi/German. We live a retired lifestyle and travel, mostly in some winter months, then return to Aotearoa for an extended summer.
We are an older couple. I'm a retired HVAC engineer, Sabine is an administrator, she has a past career with Lufthansa, flying for many years, pampering first class passengers.
I'm handy around the house with tools, paint and brushes and can fix things when needed.
We are also pretty good in the garden which is important, as you, the house owner, will want to return to a house and garden in the same or better condition as when you left it.
We are both fastidious in our living spaces, we are clean and neat and wherever we live we take great care. We keep a very high standard of cleanliness and maintain it throughout our stay in your home.
We are stay at home people. Why? Well, we think it's because we have both travelled for so much of our lives that we have it out of our system. We no longer feel the urge to go out and see everything, rather we prefer to stay home and indulge in domesticity. If we do feel like exploring, it is a day trip only. Good for us, good for you too as a constant presence in your home will enhance security.
We love animals, most houses have dogs and or cats, we are good with both and any other four legged life form... We have a regular house sit which includes two horses and we get along fine with them. Whatever your menagerie, we guarantee to love and respect its occupants and take care of them as you would wish.
We are well experienced in house sitting and understand the responsibilities of security, maintenance and care.
Together we have taken care of property and pets in NZ, Australia, Europe and India.

We had not had house sitters look after our place before ,so we were a little nervous .
But we should not have been Robert and Sabine took great care of our 2 acres of garden and lawns and also our two Burman cats..
On our return we where very impressed with the way everything was ,And yes we would not hesitate to have them back again.

Our first time using Kiwi House Sitters and we couldn't be more pleased with the care Robert and Sabine took of our home, pool, large vegetable garden and two quite particular cats while we were away for almost a month. We enjoyed the photos of our cats they sent while we were away and appreciated their communication of garden updates. It made us feel so much more comfortable being away for so long knowing they were caring for our home. And it was so lovely to arrive home to a sparkling clean ... MOREOur first time using Kiwi House Sitters and we couldn't be more pleased with the care Robert and Sabine took of our home, pool, large vegetable garden and two quite particular cats while we were away for almost a month. They were superb in all their dealings with us, prior to our departure, whilst we were away overseas for 33 days, and on our return. They were absolutely fabulous with the care of our numerous animals, including assisting with the vet's visit to attend to the goats'.. We received regular updates on the animals, both written and photos in the mix.

Robert and Sabine took amazing care of our two dogs and cat, along with our home.
We were able to head away for 12 days to Fiji knowing all was in good hands.
We returned home to happy, well cared for pets and an immaculate home. While we were away we had regular correspondence and photos which was even more reassuring.

Robert and Sabine were fantastic sitters on all fronts. They communicated really well before and during the sit, they looked after our house like their own and our little dog adored them! Robert and Sabine went the extra mile driving our cars periodically to keep them running and also baked us some amazing Sourdough Bread on our arrival home. Robert even repaired my lawnmower. I would ask them back without hesitation as I was able to go on holiday without a single worry about home and my dog ... MORERobert and Sabine were fantastic sitters on all fronts. This not only built a close and trusting relationship over time but it made me – Dame Pistachio’s ‘mum’ - so completely at ease with how our 'baby' was faring, that I happily dubbed them her 2nd parents. She adopted and trained them to an extent we now have new standards to live up to! And our garden seems to be ... Sabine & Robert house sat for us from 6/10 - 23/11/22. The 7 weeks we were overseas, posed some real challengers & we can't thank them enough for the amazing job they did taking care of our animals & property.
HB had the worst spring/summer we can remember, I think it rained for most of the 7 weeks we were away. Spring grass growth was huge & they managed to get all our horses & donkey safely through this with no laminitis. Hoof abscesses the next problem, caused by horses constantly ... MORESabine & Robert house sat for us from 6/10 - 23/11/22. The 7 weeks we were overseas, posed some real challengers & we can't thank them enough for the amazing job they did taking care of our animals & property.

It was wonderful to arrive home to a super clean tidy house & freshly mown lawns.

Mac was relaxed and quite contented on our return ( and has asked whether he can be looked after by his new grandparents again!). The house was pristine, milk and bread were left in the fridge along with a little beverage treat and the garden was in great shape.
We can wholeheartedly endorse this couple. They are delightful, reliable and ... MORERobert and Sabine house-sat for us for 2-3 weeks in January 2018. We were delighted with the care they showed for our puss cat Mac, our home and our garden. Our property is unusual in that we are located rurally, have no direct road access, no cell phone reception, no mains water and composting toilets. They took all of this in their stride and did a wonderful job of caring for our house and tourist cottages. Our cat and chickens were also well cared for, in fact I think the cat was disappointed to see them go!

Upon return we realised that we'd adopted another 100 local wild birds visiting the garden to enjoy daily seeds and bird cake! A lovely sight each day.
As a couple Sabine and Robert are very caring, organised, fastidious, and practical as well as having very high standards when it comes to house care.
Our house was definitely cleaner than how we left it and it was a pleasure to return to a fresh home with relaxed pets.
I can honestly say that we definitely struck gold when Sabine and Robert accepted our offer to house sit and come highly recommended as being most trustworthy and with high integrity.
