  • I have been a house sitter and caretaker off and on for around 5 years on a lifestyle farm on Great Barrier Island. This was off-grid/solar, tank water, and required some orchard and general maintenance. Have a Class 2 & 4 truck licence and have driven a tractor, quad bike. Farm animals I have done a little: feeding chickens, ducks, cows.

Hi I'm Sean, I am a self-employed software designer. I discovered house-sitting in 2018 when I was lucky enough to find a house-sit on Great Barrier Island where I became a caretaker looking after a lifestyle farm until 2023.

My ideal location is quiet and peaceful, with interesting local walks. and I'm happy to do basic chores like lawns, feed the chooks and look after pets.

I write my software about 8 hours during the day and I have my own internet hotspot, but I do appreciate internet if you have it available.

Sean accepted the job and provided excellent communication after doing so. He was punctual and prepared on his arrival. He listened to what was required and carried out those duties perfectly. Really happy that the dogs were well looked after and that they got on well with Sean. The younger one is a bit of a challenge, but Sean coped well, particularly given the appalling weather while we were away, which made exercising the dogs difficult.

Sean looked after our two dogs Harry and Sugar for two weeks. He had excellent communication before and during the house sit. He did a great job looking after the dogs and he left the property clean and tidy. I would definitely recommend Sean, he is a kind and capable sitter.

He was flexible and that fitted in perfectly as we were unsure of our travel plans untill the last minute.
