Caroline & Tobias

Hi there.

We are a couple and we are both 19-year-olds from Germany. Since early September Caro has been in beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand where she worked for two months on a horse farm with 21 Icelandic Horses in Christchurch. On that horse farm she also took care of their three cows and their 15 chickens. Towards end of October Tobi arrived and since then did we travel around on the South Island in our car.

We don’t have any experience as housesitters yet (but we are eager to learn! :)), though we are very responsible, clean, and tidy. We always clean up right after ourselves because we personally feel more comfortable in clean accommodations. Personality-wise, we both are friendly, open and happy people. While Tobi is the calm one, Caro likes to go on adventures/hikes (and likes to take dogs with her, for example :)).

We are both originally from Stuttgart in Germany, where we both lived with our parents. Tobi grew up with his dog Mingo and Caro grew up with cats and pet mice. After we both completed our Abitur (a school leaving certificate in Germany), we came here to New Zealand to work and travel. When we return to Germany, we both plan to pursue technical careers.

We're enjoying traveling in New Zealand at the moment, but we're also looking forward to a bit of settledness. We both enjoy reading and are planning to use the time while housesitting to plan our further travels here in New Zealand, get to know the area, and just relax a bit.

We both love all types of animals, Tobi especially likes dogs and Caro especially likes cats and birds. We enjoy cuddling with animals, but we always let them come to us (especially cats ;)). If they want attention, we are more than happy to give it, but we'd never force them to interact.
