I am an animal-loving, kind, and trustworthy house and pet sitter 🐾
I began house/pet sitting full time in June 2023 when I moved back to Wellington. I wanted some breathing space to find a new flat and care for some lovely animals - however the bookings kept flowing in!
I love this lifestyle and have been lucky enough to care for some beautiful homes and pets since then.
If you are looking for someone kind, helpful, and trustworthy to look after your home and/or pets, I would love to be considered.
I am keenly aware of how much trust is involved in having someone care for your home and pets, and so appreciate when anyone trusts me with this. I am more than happy to catch up with you and meet your pets beforehand. I am happy to send photos and updates while you are away for your peace of mind.
I have worked mostly in the charity sector in the past, and am currently a Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Social Development. I am originally from Ireland and moved to NZ after finishing my masters 9 years ago.
What I Offer:
🔑 Home Security: Your home will be in good hands. I work full time, some days from home, and will make sure your home is well looked after.
🧹 Tidy Spaces: I am very conscious of other people's spaces and will keep the place clean and tidy (often cleaner!) than you left it.
🌿 Plant Care: I am more than happy to water and care for any plants while you are away.
🐾 Pet Pampering: If you have furry (or not so furry) friends, they'll receive all the love and attention they deserve. I have lots of experience with animals all my life; dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, sheep - you name it!
📬 Post and Deliveries: No need to worry about overflowing postboxes or packages left unattended. I'll collect your post and packages, keeping everything safe until your return.

Hazel
Hazel has been our house and cat sitter a few times now. Most recently she looked after our two cats for two months over summer. She kept us up to date with news of the cats' exploits and most importantly notified us when a gas pipe was leaking. We are very grateful for her actions over this time.

We had Hazel & two of her friends come to our farm and housesit for us. Right from the get go, Hazel's communication was prompt and spot on. We were exceptionally grateful for the girls coming to look after our place so we could get a few days away from the farm and enjoy some beach time & spend it with our family for Christmas. Hazel is part of the family as she has looked after Pipi and Pablo several times for both short and more lengthy stays. Most recently she stayed for two months and when we got home the house was immaculate and the cats very happy and relaxed.
Hazel sent regular photo updates and kept us informed when Pipi decided to test Hazel's nerves and came home late.
It was lovely to see the cats run to see Hazel when she came for a visit before the house-sit.

Hazel was a superb housesitter, I can't recommend her enough. We felt really confident leaving her to care for our home and pets. We got plenty of photos and comms on their antics and they looked like they were having a ball. The house was spotless when we got home. Hazel has been really amazing, we’d be really grateful if she could housesit again for us as it was all just so easy and we felt so relaxed leaving her in charge of the house and cats. Honestly the easiest house/pet sit we’ve ever had.
Hazel looked after our place and cared for our 2 cats while we were away for a few weeks. She kept us in the loop with regular cat updates & photos which really put us at ease and allowed us to enjoy our holiday. We returned to a lovely clean house and I think our cats really adored her. Hazel was an AMAZING house sitter. From first meeting with my very picky cat she created a bond. She was fantastic with her communication and took wonderful care of my cat, my house and my garden. I will use her again and again if she is available.

I can't thank Hazel enough for looking after my house while I was overseas for 6 weeks. Knowing she was there gave me real peace of mind. Hazel was a great communicator keeping me up to date but not over communicating. She is very personable, reliable and fun to meet. My house was left immaculate. I would definitely use Hazel again.
Hazel is a fairy godmother to Pipi and Pablo. They were treated like the royalty they think they are. We received regular updates and photos of their antics.

Hazel was the best. Great at communication (received regular Whatsapp pics of our cat looking happy and relaxed) and came home to a house that is cleaner than I have ever seen it - as well as a loaf of freshly baked bread! Highly recommend Hazel as someone who is respectful, reliable and has a soft spot for needy animals.
