We have enjoyed our sits to date. We have twice looked after an elderly cat, high up in an apartment in Auckland city centre, then a house sit in Mt Eden with two lovely sister cats, Mt Albert for nearly 6 weeks with one cat, Ōrākei with a tom, Parnell with a little female cat and then Milford with 15-year-old brother and sister cats. Our last sit was looking after a cat in Wellington for 11 days.
Audrey's family has always had cats and she also had three pet bantams, one of which might have been the longest living bantam in history. Chris's family has always had birds. We are self-employed, usually working from home, and enjoy an active lifestyle. We are non-smokers and social vegetarians. We have always volunteered in various capacities, being scout leaders when our son was young, and volunteers for a social group for young people with disabilities (PHAB). Currently, Audrey is secretary/treasurer for Community Groups Feeding the Homeless and secretary/treasurer for Civic Trust Auckland, Chris is a companion volunteer at Auckland Hospital.
Our central Auckland apartment underwent remediation work for 2 1/2 years, and we were fortunate to be able to do various house sits throughout Auckland, during that time.
Since then, we are looking to do occasional house sits outside of Auckland.
Our son, Sophie, at the end of 2024, joined us in doing house sits, and has recently completed his first one (solo) in Ngaruawahia, looking after three cats, six chickens and some young native trees.

Audry and Chris's son looked after our house and pets while we were away. He was very reliable and we appreciated him being able to extend his stay as well.
Audrey and Chris were a joy to deal with prior, during and after the house sit. Most important to us was that our dear cat was in a calm, caring atmosphere and that's just what they provided (sending us happy reassuring pics of her). At the same time they're lovely interesting people so it was very nice to hear about their trip to Welly too. Audrey and Chris were fantastic house sitters and looked after our two elderly cats. Our two cats are 15 and indoor cats, so need more looking after. Cleaning of cat litter boxes etc, More care than most pets, Audrey and Chris had no problems. We have never had anyone come into our house to look after the cats but after having Audrey and Chris come and stay we would certainly do it again.
Communication was very easy, Also very appreciated updates whilst we were away.

It was our pleasure to have Audrey and Chris looking after our house and cat. We think they spoiled Jac when they were here and she obviously enjoyed their company. We returned to a happy cat, a clean and tidy house and some beautiful flowers on the table.
Dexter appeared very calm and relaxed on my return. He is an old cat so I was keen to find a couple that were home during the day to keep him company. House was left neat and tidy. I highly recommend Audrey and Chris.
We were very pleased to have had Audrey and Chris house-sit for us. Communication with them before and, during the house-sit was prompt and helpful and a note left for our return was useful. Our house was left spotlessly clean, the lawn was mown and our vegetable garden was flourishing. Best of all we returned to a relaxed and clearly well looked after cat. Thank you both very much.
