We are seeking a mature person to housesit for us from 17 JUNE 2025 to 01 SEPTEMBER 2025 (dates are approximate at this stage).

We have two cats - a 6yr old Snow Mink Bengal cat called Barney, a 5 year cat called Clyde, and 14 sheep.

Choose what you want to do here - a very quiet housesit - enjoy our cats, take regular walks around the property or relax and enjoy our calm and quiet location.

We are located off State Highway 7 in North Canterbury, and are approximately 5 mins from the Hawarden township (there is a 4 Square Supermarket), 10 minutes from Waikari township, 45 minutes from Hanmer Springs and about an hour from Christchurch.

Our area of North Canterbury is lovely, and we are close to all types of activities including well-known vineyards, walking trails, local pubs, cafes, cuisine, snow skiing, lakes, golf courses etc.

We have prepared a comprehensive and informative housesitting guide with everything a sitter needs to know about our rural property, as well as caring for Barney and Clyde.

Our ideal housesitter possesses common sense, is house proud (like us), is calm, reliable, trustworthy and honest, a non-smoker, and possesses a love, patience and understanding of cats.

Unfortunately our rural property is NOT suitable for accompanying children and/or pets. Please do not apply if you charge any fees to housesit.

We have plenty of off-street secure parking and the property has remote controlled gates. Having experience in a rural property is an advantage, but not essential. Also, if you need time to settle in, we are flexible on the start date once our travel dates are confirmed.
