Hi there,

We are Erwin, Elena and Maya.

We've decided to stay a bit longer in Europe and our current housesitters are travelling abroad themselves after 6 months taking care of our property.

Most of all we're looking for a garden sitter, who really enjoys taking care of our little paradise and also has the time to do so.

This housesit will be more time-intensive than the average housesit, so we understand this may not be a fit for everyone. :-)

We would be looking for someone who is willing to commit at least 2 hours per day in the garden, with a combination of weeding, watering and garden projects.

When we bought our property around 4 years ago the section was all covered in weeds on top of more weeds. Since then we have been landscaping and transforming part of it into a little permaculture food forest.

In the most sunny part of the garden we have raised beds and a veggie-garden. And most likely there will be lots of strawberries for you to enjoy.

Our current housesitters leave 13 November 2024, so we would be looking for someone to take over at that date or a few days later untill we're back. We haven't booked our returntickets yet, but it will probably be around New Year.

We have a wonderful place in Tahuna Hills in Nelson on a 1700m2 section, with seaviews and a 10 minute drive from the beach.

We're looking for a power couple or power person to take care of the garden. :-)

We also have a lovely affectionate outside pussycat who chose to live with us and who would love some cuddles.

When asked if we would return for a second long-term housesit, we naturally jumped at the opportunity to look after Ewin and Elena's lovely home with the massive backyard vege and fruit garden, and adorable pussy cat, Poesje. Our 8 month sit was a lot of hard, yet satisfying work attending to large scale garden projects that included putting in retaining walls, paths, steps and some added irrigation. Gosh. What a fabulous and productive 9-month sit that was! Erwin and Elena are genuinely lovely, laid-back, down-to-earth folk who entrusted us to look after their home, cat, and ever-expanding permaculture garden.
