We need a house sitter

Auckland - Manukau

Tatjana

2 bedroom ground level unit with a set up of a separate comfy guest room for your privacy. The room has a desk, heating & fan, towels, linen, blankets and pillows. The flat is located in the heart of Old Papatoetoe. Within a short 400 m walking distance it is very close to all amenities, train station, bus stop, pharmacy, supermarket, small shops and a variety of takeaway restaurants. Within 1 km range is a (free entry) leisure pool, Hunters Plaza Shopping Mall and 10 mins away is the large Manukau SupaCenta.

I enjoy living with my pet parrots - they are very desensitised and used to having their human attention. have 2 pairs of Barrabands in the outside aviary and 2 cockatiel sisters. They enjoy their treats and may sit on you while you enter the aviary. They're beggars for food when you dine in the backyard (there is a gas BBQ available), and otherwise, the Barrabands are a rather quiet and docile species who mainly have their morning and evening calls. The 2 cockatiel sisters mostly hide away in their privacy.

The inside parrots are a family of Bourke parrots and a hand-tame cockatiel boy. He loves attention while the Bourkes roam around, but all go back in their cages if asked to do so. Very low maintenance birds and house. I appreciate someone tidy and responsible in a quiet neighborhood.

Looking after birds was new to me but it proved to be a great experience, they were easy care and well trained, great company and very entertaining. Tatjana was great with explaining everything and communication was smooth during the sit, the home is low maintenance in a great location, would sit again.

The parrots are very straightforward to care for and the cockatiel is so so friendly. Doesn't leave your side and enjoys watching tv, especially if there are birds on screen. All the birds responded to Radio NZ bird calls on the hour. Hilarious. Tatjana is a very good communicator and we found the location of the house so convenient for trains, buses, shops etc.

Tatjana was so warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay here. The animals were easy to look after and we had very clear instructions.
