Nelson / Marlborough - Nelson
Olivia & Chris
Fossey and Chatelet are looking for a/some quiet human friend(s) while the usual humans are away. The 2 sisters are quite timid, but very loving with people who have the patience to connect with rescue animals. Fossey is fluffy, a playful 13 year-old kitten and quite silly at times. Her sister Chatelet is settling into older age with more naps, but no less demands of humans. Both love laps, being brushed, tummy rubs, playing and of course food.
The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 lounges, kitchen, guest toilet, laundry, workshop, carport and bicycle shed. Wooden floors and character features. The house has been fully insulated and double-glazed with German-style windows, so is dry and snug. Heat pump and other heaters available around the house also. There is a large deck with a view of Mount Arthur (and other snowy mountains), the sea and a field with 2 sheep.
The garden is a good size, with about 250 sq. m of lawn, as well as borders and trees. Garden maintenance to be discussed.
We are well-situated for both the city centre of Nelson (5 km, easy by bike, bus or car). There are also a good range of local shops, pubs, restaurants, pharmacy and doctor in Tahunanui. We are right by the beach and Natureland. Nelson has 3 National Parks on within 1-2h driving distance. Easy access to both mountains and sea, as well as local hiking trails (Grampians), mountain biking and the native wildlife Brook Waimarama Sanctuary (predator-proof fenced). The local arts scene is thriving, with theatre, art house cinema, art galleries, the Nelson Markets, excellent restaurants and cafes. History buffs will enjoy Founders Park.
Our girls are scared of children, dogs, large numbers of people and people they don't know. Therefore we are looking for 1 or 2 quiet people with a knack for timid animals - you will need to scare the neighbourhood cats out of our garden ;)
Sadly there are internal and external stairs, which make the house inaccessible to wheelchair users. Our home is a Safe Space.
Due to the anxious nature of the cats, we will need to meet any sitter in-person before we can confirm any sit, to see how they get on with the cats.
