We need a house sitter

We are looking for someone to mind our house and our 2 donkeys Ben & Harry, while we are away on holiday after Christmas.
There is very little that needs to be done, as the donkeys don't get hay over summer, we would just need you to keep an eye on them and water the garden occasionally. Our finish dates are flexible, as family will be back from holiday after a couple of weeks and can take over.
We have a comfortable 4 bedroom, 2 storey home on 20 acres on the outskirts of Ashburton, with a spa and an indoor pool which are available for use. Ashburton is ideally located for exploring the central South Island, being a short drive from Geraldine, Tekapo, Mt Hutt, Akaroa, Mt Sunday (of Lord of the Rings fame). It is also close to great fishing, and cycle tracks.

Wonderful home and owners and of course pets. We enjoyed Fonzie the dog very much and felt very settled and welcome in this beautiful home.

Fiona and Paul were really lovely people to house sit for. They left us very good instructions and were easily contactable both before and during the sit We only had Fonzie the snauzer for one night of our stay but he's such a sweet little dog and very easy to care for. The donkeys are also very low maintenance and very friendly. Stubby the miniature horse....what an amazing cute little guy and again very minimal care is required but lovely to spend extra time giving him fuss. Floyd the cat ... MORE

Beautiful house and garden. The animals had lots of character and were fun to be around. Great communication with a clear set of instructions for each animal. Quite sad to say goodbye to the animals after a seven week stay.
