Brighton Dunedin

Hi there!
I live right by the beach in Brighton (20 mins south of Dunedin) and have three dogs (spoodles): Echo is almost 9, Daisy is 4, and Rupert is 1.

I’m heading away for Christmas and am looking for a couple of housesitters to stay and look after the wee critters!! I will be leaving early on the morning of the 23rd, but I’d like you to be able to come on Sunday 22nd (or earlier is also fine!) so that you have a chance to get to know the dogs/house/me before I go. End date is somewhat flexible but ideally somewhere around the 28th. 😊

Brighton is a small, quiet community, although the main beach is extremely popular in summer. In Brighton itself there is really only a dairy, a pub, and a cafe. There’s also a little boat/kayak hire place. 😊 I have ticked a lot of the options for "nearby" because all of these things are available in Dunedin, approx a 20 min drive away. Green Island (12 mins away) is the closest suburb that has a supermarket and a number of shops and takeaway options.
There is a huge expanse of lovely dog-friendly beach right across the road from my house.

My house is a new build with modern appliances etc, and is very warm, clean, and easy to look after. It is only two bedrooms, so probably not really suitable for a family, sorry.

The dogs will need to be fed morning and evening, and walked daily. They are VERY people-oriented and honestly will love just having your company. I am aware that three dogs is a lot of dogs!! For that reason I am looking for a couple/pair - it is very difficult to walk three dogs on your own and unfortunately you can’t leave any behind without them getting very upset.

I don’t work from home, so they are used to me being away for a big chunk of the day, and are fine being left inside when you’re not home. HOWEVER: please note that I am a wee way out of town, to the South. If you are having Christmas with friends or family in Dunedin you will need to be prepared to leave at some point to come home to let the dogs out to the toilet and feed them. This will disrupt your Christmas Day, but they absolutely cannot be left alone for more than a usual working day. Obviously I will be reasonable about it so that you can maximise your Christmas! But please understand that this is a very important condition before you apply.
