Peria Far North

Hello and welcome to our farm

This is a very peaceful part of NZ, with lovely scenery, local waterfalls, beaches close by. A perfect place to come and retreat to. Come and be right in nature.

Our family of four is setting off for a summer holiday to the south island. We will be gone for a month.
We are looking for a house sitter to care for and mind our home in the far away north for a period of around 4 weeks.

We live in the Peria area. 25 mins drive from the beautiful Doubtless Bay with its stunning beaches (and 4 square) and around 45-50 mins drive to Kaitaia, where there is pak n save and all the normal shops.

Our home is an old farm house that we are slowly renovating on a 50 acre section with some patches of native bush and streams.
2 bedrooms, kitchen and lounge, with a shower, toilet and laundry separate but connected to the house.
The water supply is wild and straight from nature.
We have full power and internet.

We have some gorgeous guinea pigs that need minor daily attendance. This is quite easy, they need food and fresh grass. Their hutch home will need to be moved every 2-3 days to provide them with fresh lawn to graze. 2 live in the hutch and 2 are now living in the bushes but are always around and like carrots and being near their hutched friends.

We have 4 horses and 5 sheep that pretty much look after themselves, but a Sitter might like to check in on them occasionally to make sure they're alright. They have no feeding out needs.

We have a small herd of cattle, around 25, on the property which will need to be moved from paddock to paddock. This involves a walk on the farm and opening and closing gates.
Great if you feel comfortable to do this for the cows,, if not a local family member could potentially help out.

We have a small veggie garden that will require watering.
