Our family is away over the Christmas period and we need someone to take care of our dog Shadow and home for this period. Shadow will need to be walked daily, however as Shadow is an older boy with arthritis so it will need to be short walks first thing in the morning or last thing in the evening to avoid the heat, Shadow needs to be brushed regularly as he is a long haired German Shepard and helps keep him cool aswell. He is a very friendly boy who loves affection, however with his arthritis it does mean, under no circumstances is he allowed to play fetch even though he will try to entice you with a stick or a ball, We live in a 2 storey home on the Waikanae River with views of Kapiti Island, and different walking tracks to choose from at the doorstep.
The downstairs area will be available for use only, which has 4 bedrooms, 2 double and 2 single rooms.
Had a great weekend looking after Shadow. He is good company and really enjoys going for walks around the lovely riverside and beach..

Looking after Shadow was an absolute delight! Shadow is a beautiful, happy and very affectionate long-haired German Shepherd, who absolutely loves his daily walks! The location was great - so many options for walks, with excellent tracks and parks nearby. The house is modern and warm, and the communications with James and Shareen were prompt, friendly and helpful. We would happily look after Shadow again if circumstances allowed - we became good friends and were very sad to have to say goodbye.
Care for someone else's pets, go for walks in a brand new place... Surprise yourself and expand your horizons.
