Apiti Manawatu-Wanganui

Hi, We are a family of 5 living on our sheep and beef farm nestled near the Ruahine Ranges in the Manawatu. We very rarely mange to get off the farm, but would love to go and spend 2-3 weeks visiting with our family & friends and exploring in our Motorhome these school summer holidays - January 2025.
We need really caring, trustworthy and dedicated dog/animal lovers to come and house sit for us and take care of our 6 Miniature Schnauzers here at the house, as well as one cat and now a new rescue kitten! In the house paddock is Nina the Pony and Tilly the goat, who will come when called for a scratch or treat, but require no extra care.
We have a cosy, clean, comfortable 3 brm home for your daily use and care of the pets. Just separate from the house is a lovely fresh unit with ensuite for your sleeping arrangements.
The dogs usually stay outside and on the deck during the day and use the laundry to sleep in at night, so are not under your feet too much. They're intelligent, affectionate dogs, very easy to care for but still love lots of cuddles and any attention they can get! Our home section is fully fenced for peace of mind.
As we have additional needs (eg listed below) and this is a rural position out of town, we would be happy to discuss how we can make this work for you with remuneration for fuel and time.
We also have 7 farm dogs housed elsewhere on the farm that will require the usual care of daily feeding and being let off for a quick run. This is really easy and quite fun being on a lovely farm. You can either enjoy the short 800m walk to them or we can provide a vehicle/fuel for this.
This position would ideally suit an individual or couple who enjoy country lifestyle and perhaps have a bit of farm experience though not essential. It's not suitable to bring outside pets to.
If accommodation is required before and after the dates we mutually arrange to be away, to allow for your ease of travel and time to spend getting to know what is required, we are more than happy to accommodate you as you'll have your own private unit anyway. We are a smoke-free home.
Apiti is located 47km NE of Feilding. Nearby are many fabulous walks, glow worm cave, horse trekking, Cafe and our local Tavern also serves a delicious selection of food.
