We need a house sitter

Wellington - Upper Hutt

Liz

We own a small lifestyle block in the beautiful Whitemans Valley area, and are looking for sensible house sitters to enjoy our place and look after our two high energy and playful dogs, beloved cats, chooks, and keep an eye on our sheep and kunekune pigs (both very low maintenance).

We are specifically looking for someone with experience in working/high energy breeds. Our dogs Juno (working line GSD) and Wade (GSD cross Collie) are great fun, and are well behaved as long as they get decent daily exercise. We have paddocks you can exercise them in. If you love playing fetch and frisbee, this is the house sit for you! Ideally you’d have experience with shepherd breeds. Once they’ve got their beans out they're very happy curling up on the sofa with you (or on you, if you allow it!).

It is absolutely fine if you’re working away during the day or need to be at a computer for most of the day. The dogs are happy in the house by themselves during the day if necessary.

Our country cottage is comfortable and cosy, with dishwasher, washing machine, TV with Netflix, plenty of books to enjoy, and of course wifi.
There are 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with shower/bath, a laundry with a second toilet, and a large kitchen.

Idyllic, peaceful setting, enjoy the fresh eggs from our lovely chooks, and sitting out on the deck under the walnut tree. When you walk around the fields with the dogs, one of the cats will often join in the walk!

12 minutes drive from silverstream where there is a New World, Bakery, takeaway, doctors, gym and train station to the city. It's the perfect balance of peace and quiet whilst still being very accessible to wellington city (35 min drive).

Tunnel Gully Recreation Area is a 15 minute drive away, which is fantastic for walking and biking. The Rimutaka Rail Trail is also situated here, and is a great day trip on bikes.

We also have fantastic neighbours around us who will happily help you if you’ve run out of milk for a cup of tea, or if you need a hand with any of the animals.

Mowing the lawn would be helpful if the weather allows, especially for longer term house sits.
Depending on the season, you may just be required to let the sheep into different paddocks but this is easy.

We had a wonderful time at Liz and Adam place. Great communication from the beginning. Very cosy place and nice scenery. Homegrown veggies are amazing. Pets are so sweet and cute. We ve been lucky to meet this wonderful couple. Would do it again anytime. Highly recommend.
