We need a house sitter

Waikato - Waipa

Claudia

My dog and I are living in a friendly neighbourhood at the end of the street overlooking the adjacient farm fields. Our home is a small simple wood house with 2 bedrooms, an old-fashioned kitchen without a dishwasher. The property lies on flat land and the rest of the quarter acre section is mostly on a pathed hill side leading through mature native trees to a pond and running stream accessible by small bridges. Apart from the vege garden (which will be mainly dormant at the time) the garden is a fairly ungroomed nature reserve with lots of birds. Water is heated with gas bottles (Rinnai system), the cosy house has an HRV system and one fire place in the lounge. I am environment concious saving water and electricity where I can but offer an electric heater if the house sitter is not familiar with fireplaces. The place really suits someone practical who loves nature and is mobile walking on uneven paths through the garden. Kihikihi has a nice community with several shops, take aways and with the car it takes 4 minutes to Te Awamutu, 15 minutes to Pirongia in the West and Maugatautiri in the East with inviting walkways and hiking opportunities in native bush. It's an easy drive of 30 minutes to Hamilton and 20 minutes to Cambridge.
My darling Leena is 7 years old and has been with me since I puppy age. She is a cross breed between a Huntaway and a greyhound so a medium large dog with very slim features. She has the loud bark of the Huntaway however mostly only barks when she tries to tell you that she can't get to her toy or she is desperate for you to play with her a bit. We have been through a lot together and she is very gentle, sensitive and cuddly although really long when she stretches out on my bed. Unless very experienced I prefer that Leena will stay on the property and enjoys playing in her backyard although she is used to walk on the leash as well. She is healthy and fit and gets fed once a day in the evening. As I collect rainwater in tanks you might be required to open the tap from time to time to let some water out of the hose when tank is full.
