Manawahe

Hi,

We're looking for a couple or single housesitter(s) - preferably a keen gardener - to take care of our plants and chooks whilst we're away.

We live in the beautiful hills of Manawahe. It's a peaceful spot in nature, close enough to everything you need. 15 minutes from Lake Rotoma and Matata Beach. Whakatane is around 30minutes away. Mount Maunganui / Tauranga and Rotorua about 1 hour away.

We live in a 10m2 tiny house which has a kitchen and lounge. There is also a sleepout 30 metres away with a comfortable queen bed, couch and office desk. Bathroom is in a separate cabin. We use a composting bucket system for toilet which needs to be emptied regularly. Or if you prefer, just use the long drop next to the sleepout.
Please note buildings are not joined and you will need to go outside to get from one cabin to another.

Outdoor chillout area with two hammocks! Perfect to kick back and listen to the birds.

We rely on rainwater, so we do ask housesitters to be careful with water usage.

We are mainly looking for housesitters to take care of our extensive plant home (shade house with lots of plants). Watering does require some bending and stretching to reach certain plants, but otherwise it can be quite a relaxing activity. Over winter we'd estimate about 1 hour watering every two or three days depending on the weather.

We also have 4 chooks which lay daily. Food and water will need to be topped up every few days. The eggs are yours to enjoy.

We don't have dogs of our owns but our neighbour's dogs (an older 13 year old rescue and a young jack russel) usually visit us every day and have a bed on our porch.

We would love to meet you before we go so we can show you around the property and give you a run down of what is required regarding plant watering especially!
