We are a family of three, living in Harewood - about 5 minutes away from Christchurch Airport. We have a spoodle, Molly, who is three years old. She is very chill and loves sleeping during the day. She is walked (30-45 minutes) and fed twice a day - once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Molly's puppy eyes have given her access to the master bedroom bed, where she sleeps initially on her pillow.. and then on or under the bed! She has a button she pushes when she needs to go outside to toilet.
Since my husband and I both work, Molly is good being alone during the day. We just make sure to take her out before we go out and after we come home. We close all the doors (bedrooms and bathroom) and shoes are put well away from reach.
Molly loves people but will bark at people if she is inside, looking out! She is pretty good off leash in familiar places, but is very food driven and will sniff out any bread or crumbs that are left at the park. She also loves a treat and is given one after meal times and while we are away at work. Molly's teeth are brushed each night and she is really good at lying on her side when she sees the toothbrush!
Our garden will not need to be looked after, but if Molly goes to the toilet in the grass, it will need to be picked up and put into our red bin. We usually just do this once a day (in the evenings).
We have Nunweek Park nearby, as well as Copenhagen bakery (the pastries and pies are delicious) and Bishopdale Mall where there is a New World and pharmacy.
