We need a house sitter

Otago - Waitaki

Michelle

Hi! We live in beautiful Windsor, 20 minutes South West of Oamaru, in North Otago, in the South Island. We are travelling overseas to see family from 19 December 2024 to 24 January 2025..
We are looking for someone who will take good care of our home and animals. We have a 7 hectare farmlet that has paddocks with beautiful mountain views, a little forest and a stream that goes through the forest.
We have 2 friendly German Shepherds, 3 cats , 2 fish tanks, some hens, 2 horses and 5 cows.
We have Netflix, unlimited broadband, and a very cozy farmhouse built in 1900. The house is very quiet and private.
We are looking for someone with love for animals, common sense and a caring respectful attitude.
Someone who enjoys nature and will take care of our house in a responsible manner.
We live 20 minutes from Oamaru, a picturesque Victorian coastal town. We are also 20 minutes from Kakanui beach that has very good surfing waves.
Here in Oamaru there is a little blue penguin colony and many sea lions and NZ fur seals come to its shore.
We are 1 and a half hours away from Dunedin, 3 hours from Christchurch and 1 hour from the Southern Alps
Our farmlet is in an area with rolling hills and the views of the surrounding Windsor area and the Southern Alps are really amazing.
We are beside the Alps to Ocean cycle trail and you are welcome to use our bikes to go out and explore.
We also have an organic vegetable garden and many berries and fruit trees (all organic). You are welcome to help yourself to any fruit and vegetables and to any eggs our hens lay during your stay.
We would need you to mow the lawns (we have a ride-on mower), water the vegetable garden and the indoor plants.
A bit about me: I am from Argentina but grew up in Brazil. I love nature and animals. I am an animal behaviorist, I'm a horse whisperer and a dog trainer.
I care for the environment, practice recycling and composting and I do regenerative farming and grazing at our farm.
I love the outdoors, cycling and yoga.
We would love to hear from you if you feel you'd enjoy staying at our little farm.
