We have four (yes 4!!) fabulous kitty cats who are all related. Our babies are very special to us and need kind and loving carers to be with them while we are away. So introductions - we have two ginger cats - AK (Adventure Kitty) and Simba (King of the Lions) and their brother Bear who is a blue grey gorgeous boy, watching over them all is mumma Lulu our tortoise shell fluff ball who is an absolute princess. While our kitties are all pretty self sufficient they need carers who will be there for them. Lulu is a real home body and loves being around you so be prepared for her attention seeking snuggles. Apart from daily care of food and water, they each love having smooches and cuddles when they come in to say hi and tell you all about their day. This is a pretty relaxed pet sit for carers who want a quiet country stay on a 5 acre farm in a beautiful unique tranquil location overlooking a small lake. The night sky is beautiful here - star gazing or satellite spotting is a great way to end the day and enjoy the hoot of our local Ruru (Morepork) bird.
We have Starlink wifi, and an office set up for any digital nomads. Sky Sports, Apple TV, Netflix and the usual On Demand NZ TV channels.
Our house is a comfortable single storey home with a flat section and there is plenty of room to park a camper or caravan. We have lawns mowed frequently so no need for sitters to do this task. Vegetable garden maintenance and some pot plant watering is required, but nothing onerous. It is around a 20 minute drive from our doorstep to the cafes in Kerikeri or to Paihia beach a popular tourist destination. Kerikeri has a wonderful weekend market which also hosts Friday night food trucks and live music. There are great cafes, wineries, walks and beautiful beaches - all within a short drive. Our home is a great location for day explorations of the Bay of Island - or take a ferry adventure from Paihia to beautiful locations out in the bay - Russell, Otahei Bay on Urapukapuka Island. Hole in the Rock adventure, Dolphin Discovery etc. So - come, explore and have fun. Sorry, but this pet sit is not available to smokers as I'm highly allergic to cigarette smoke.
Idyllic experience! Ade and Tony are the nicest, we couldn't be more grateful and content to housesit for them. Communication (verbal and written) was very clear, They covered us with great attention and care.
AK & Simba the furry hunters, are playful big kitties, warming you when they give up their wild instincts, The house and property set in a peaceful and secluded spot. Our favorite stay so far!
We spent five wonderful weeks at Ade and Tony's house, and it was an unforgettable experience. The house is set in a stunning landscape, surrounded by nature and tranquility, yet just a few minutes away from the center of Kerikeri and beautiful beaches.
We had the pleasure of taking care of four lovely cats calm, independent, and incredibly affectionate when they came home for cuddles.
